Hi all. Like the others in this forum, I have just joined this site. I have learned a few things here and there from BlueLight over the years via "lurking" as they say.
My story isn't too exciting. Basically I suffer from chronic pain mainly in the form of migraines (various types as well...I always have some sort of headache/migraine happening), something called Chronic Myofacsial Pain Syndrome was diagnosed next and then the all encompassing Fibromyalgia was thrown in the diagnosis mix. 8)
Needless to say all these issue took my career at a very young age and now I am on disability. I have tried many forms of meds and countless other therapies (physio, acupuncture, meditation and all sorts of "new agey stuff" etc) over the years but unfortunately the prescribed opioid therapy is the only thing that gives me any relief. I sometimes end up in hospital when a pain flare gets totally out of control...but as many of you know it isn't easy getting treatment from an all too judgmental medical and ER system. I generally have difficulty with doctors (except for one, but he is about a two day drive away, and can't find local doctors that will help...so I get treatment from long distance).
Anyhow, when I was having huge pain attacks and couldn't get the immediate help I needed locally, I found the folks at this site had lots of knowledge about how to deal with what I already had when I had to work through my major pain flares myself.8( Essentially helping me weigh my options regarding how I could help myself, because I was tired of suffering.
Sorry
this was such a long intro....I hope I didn't say too much
.
Looking forward to being part of the community!
