Great news in the effort to end the war on drugs. Of course it is not the end all be all, but it is a HUGE step in the right direction. I told people this would happen in our life time, nobody listened to me. But with the success in Europe and us bankrupting ourselves with this stupid public policy program that wastes billions every year putting us deeper and deeper into debt with a totally unnecessary program.
 
It is nice to see for sure.

I had a pretty interesting experience in So Roxbury there, caught up in a bust with a dime and was just issued a summons to see a magistrate - and when I showed up for that, the detective who had issued me the summons actually vouched for for me, essentially convincing the mag that I shouldn't be procecuted.

I will still be amazed if this actually becomes policy. It's funny how we have this binary mindset, like drugs are either totally illegal and criminal or totally legal and accessable. That just not how it works, why not simply remove the criminal penalties for those caught up without actually changing the legal status of the substance...

Yea I learned to avoid comment sections from articles like that. It's beyond distressing, although it is a good reminder as to the how fucking stupid and ignorant the general public is when it comes to harm reduction and the like.... I feel for ya sister <3
 
Decriminalization - not " legalization " - is a very sensible suggestion . Not only would it be a significant step towards harm minimization , but also towards that cause of many heroin associated problems - illicit heroin trafficking .

The sooner we deal with this relentless scourge in our societies , the better ....
