he has to quit.. my friend is using at least a .5 a day and he HAS to stop before his life completely goes to shit..
please let me know (so i can tell him) Can exercise shorten the duration of heroin withdrawals? he has to be back at work on sunday morning and he used three bags today.. its 4 am thursday night.. he HAS to be at work sunday and cannot be unable to work.. Is this possible? will exercise shorten the period of the most intense WD symptoms enough to where he can work? in 3 days? what is ANYTHING he can do to make this WD's go by quicker? please help.

Ps

(also he is a IV user) he used to snort but about 2 months ago began Iv'ing.

I doubt he'll feel up to exercising, but I would think sweating and stuff would work it out quicker. either way, he's still not gonna feel all that great on sunday if he's a regular user. just tell him to take 2-4mg of Immodium, 800mg of Ibuprofen, and I drink some robitussin in my w/d cocktail aswell, but the immodium and ibuprofen day of work, that way he's not shitting himself and the ibuprofen will help a little with the pain. maybe a muscle relaxer aswell.

to be specisic anyone else know if (know for sure) if exercise can shorten withdrawals?
if so I am going to force him to exercise

you will not be able to force someone in heroin withdrawals to exercise. i doubt anyone knows because it is very rare for anyone in heroin withdrawal to exercise, unheard of ime..

if he is a regular user then he will definitely not exercise regardless.

sweating is a side effect. it isn't relevant for most metabolism/elimination of the drug from the body, or returning to normal (which is something that occurs with receptors in the brain, has nothing to do with sweat)

you can't "sweat it out faster"

exercise does help those receptors though

you can't speed up withdrawals afaik. his habit is not excessively large, he could be functional taking something to help with w.ds... loperamide, maybe benzo or gaba-ergic, soma, etc (search)

yes, I forgot to mention benzo's help.

I'm used to being on probation back when I was a daily heroin user, so I had to use things that wouldn't show up on a drug test.

he will already have no energy and achey joints and muscles so the chance of him running a few miles its most likely out of the question
