Heroin Withdrawal Cold Turkey Day 1.

Hello everyone... I am currently a 25 year old very active Male. I workout every single day, even during my largest amounts of heroin/alcohol use. I have been using heroin for about 6 months. I have only done in forms of Snorting. I am the one who thought they could utilize this amazing high just on the weekends, and it all started with Percocets and a injury like many before me. I was using heroin on the weekends for about a month and could control it, then it was 3 days a week, then 4, till where Im at now, I use it every single day. Although... I have to admit I still have some willpower over it... I only use at night before bed, and have cravings during the day and have stopped myself every single time to use during the day. I still have lifted weights everyday of my usage habits. My dosages have been .1g (1bag) a day for the forst 2 months or so, and the past 4 I've been using about .3-.5(half)g a day. I am currently at about 24 hours of withdrawal and I have not experienced much more then a mild headache, with a little bit of stomach discomfort and back pain. Here is the kicker to the whole equation... I'd have to say that I've used quite a bit, and at a high dosage for sometime, and I have gone 72 hrs without any major withdrawals before... Would me continuing to exercise while using heroin delay/prevent withdrawl from becoming the sever type with Extreme vomit/dih and chills, body crawling, sweating etc.... The withdrawals that I have experienced is Watery eyes, yawning, stomach doing jumping jacks, mild fatigue/weakness/pain. Other then that nothing to extreme. Although this time I beleive it may be differnt, the last month has been the heaviest of my usage... close to .5 at one sitting..Tolerance was amazing in my eyes... I randomly took 10 10mg Percs one time.. and I barely felt anything! I think that this withdrawal will be worse.... I do have medications on stand by if needed. I will list them below...

Xanax(Alroprolozom), Ambien(Zolpidem), Tramadol(Ultram). Ammodium AD, Melatonin, L-Tyrosine, B-complex, Mulit mega men. I have these on stand by to get through withdrawal, although I have not used them except Tramadol (100mg) the last time on day 2.. Does absolutely nothing, but maybe a slight Placebo effect.

Again.. Here are my withdrawlas on day 1(24 hours): 8( Mild Headache, confusion, slight jumping of stomach, slight increase in pain in back.
 
Also I wanted to add, I've kept the time consistent on when I used it.. It was ALWAYS between 7-10pm at night before bed 1 time a day. Although dosages increased with time, I only used at one sitting. Could this have been a contributing factor as well as exercising everyday keeping me from withdrawing horribly? I know my use was high because I tested my urine 72hoours post use before and it was positive for heroin.
 
Props to you, buddy! You have some good meds on stand by, and I hope they are enough, but I'm not so sure. I tried to quit cold turkey a big dilaudid and morphine sulfate (prescriptions) thing that I had going on and it was hell. I hate to say this but it tends to get much worse after the 24 hOur point. However, I didnt know at that time that Immodium in high amounts can help with withdraw. Also you may want to check into stuff called Kratom. I came upon it recently. Some people swear it helps tremendously with kicking opiates.

I am not saying you cant do this. In fact, you exercising everyday is GREAT benefit. You should utilize hot baths. They were great for me. BUT after I gave in due to hallucinations and not sleepjng for 5 days, I saw my pain doc and he basically told me I was dumb for going cold turkey, ezpecially while on such a high dose. He said it could have killed me. But who knows. I saw a family member and friend kick a meth habit cold turkey, just using weed. Anyway, it will probably be hell but battle through it. If you are able to sleep during this then you are waaaaaay better off than I was already!
 
Thanks man... When was withdrawal the worst for you? New symtom at about 30 hours.. Random Hot flashes across entire body...
 
Kudos pal, the struggle is real and Im fighting my demons everyday. To answer your question about excersise preventing wds, thats not gonna happen. The best thing you could do, is stay hydrated and get rest.. your body is going through alot trying to detox, its really one of te most horrific things one could expierience. Take your as needed meds if your skin is crawling pop a milly or 2 of xanax and just chill out. At nigHT i reccomend ambien, but everyone has their preferences. Stay strong my dude.
 
Withdrawals really came on during day 2 and just went and went. I was hot and cold every other second. I changed my clothes a few times per day because of how much I sweat. To be honest, fresh clothing made me feel pretty good. I had xanax but I have been on that junk for 17 years so it doesnt help me worth a shit. I actually got so silly / stupid that I started injecting the xanax, only to find out that injecting it does nothing. Really though, I went into my cold turkey quit with no plan or research at all. I was in a bad situation. I currently live with a sister and bro in law, as well as little nephew, all only because they have a huge house and I have nasty Crohn's disease. Long story short is I got busted abusing my dilaudid. The in law wa ted me out ASAP. I panicked and told him I'm done with opiates and I was quitting cold turkey, yaddA yadda. I mean I WAS and am tired of the issues they create. Anyway, he was fine with that and let me stay. Jeeeeeesh.

Kicking opiates is a BITCH no matter how you do it. I am weening down now and still get slight withdraws....just enough to make me feel kinda cruddy. But the cold turkey thing, especially from large doses....I wouldnt wish that on even the devil. Once again I remind you that I couldnt sleep AT ALL during my detox, so I got loopy and very suicidal and was hallucinating. So hope you can sleep for some of yours. Oh yeah, stay hydrated!!! You have to. Also eat even if not hungry. Look for The Thomas Recipe. It is a detox thing online. And take as many hot baths as you can or want. It helps so much. Dont be afraid to call 911 if shit gets bad. The ER docs have seen 100s of drug cases, believe me. They wont be phased or anything like that.
 
Day 2: Withdrawal is much worse.. Still no hershey squirts.. The only main syomtoms are extreme Anxienty, almost like a prannnoaa type of anxiety. Pupills are officially have Dilated pupils and the back in form of being extremely hot/cold started. nothing to exterme tho. Main symtom is a feeling of uneasyness and the anxiety. I'm at about 40 hours in. Day 2
 
Well I forgot about that anxiety junk. Never had an issue with anxiety until withdrawals, and it sucked. I couldnt even explain it. I got worked up when I was left by myself or even at bed time sometimes. Weird crap like that. Use your meds if you need em! Stay strong, bro!
 
Day 3 is always the worst for me. Definitely utilize the immodium. Im thinking the shits are yet to come? I never took it in high amounts, just enough to stop the poos. Check out the lopermide megathread for more interesting info regarding that stuff.

Are you using the xanax for your anxiety?the ambien at night? Definitely take hot baths or showers. I haaate the hot/cold flashes, theyre horrible. I too would go through a few outfits a day and a few at night. Stay hydrated, youre doing great. Are you intending on quitting?
 
When I got real bad or jonesing really bad, I would go sit with family members or ask them to come hangout. I wouldnt talk much but distractions help. And hot baths, man!!! ?
 
50 hours in. I am at the point more of testing myself to see if I can do it, I dont' want to lie and say this is going to be it, my intention orgionally was noticing that I had a problem and wanted to test my drive and see where I would be if I stopped using. I'm at 50 hours and I have not used anything to help other then healthy food, exercise, and a dry heat sauna. I just got back from gym and sauana, felt great, although took awhile to get going, I've had this foggy feeling in my head all day, and a tight chest with bad anxienty, that's really my only major complaint still. I have a general feeling of uneasyness still, with moderate cramping of limps. I do not feel restless, nor do I have hershey shirts... I actually had 2 solid poops today, been awhile! They were little grenades the past month or soo before haha... Soo.. overall.. being 50 hours in.. I don't think I"m doing too bad..
 
I must say that I have read from many sources that a 2nd quit/withdraw attempt is worse than the first, and so on. Not sure why but just fyi.
 
Day 3 update. Feeling much better... Only current symptom is mild fatigue, runny nose, sneezing and slightly dilated pupils. Anxiety, foggynesss, aching body is gone. I'm currently at 66 hours in.. SO I should be feeling/ or be in the worst of withdrawal peak... What do you guys think? am I just lucky?
 
Your wd sounds pretty damn smooth, man. At least so far it does. I am glad tho. You should be around or over 1/2 done with physical stuff. Keep doing work!
