Bupe Heroin while on suboxone- whens it safe to take Sub again?

Hello.I have just been starting the process of getting clean and its really hard for me to deal with the physical symptoms so i tried the Suboxone route and i had been on it for 2 days, maybe a day and a half. I took about 8mg each time. (Once a day) but yesterday was my anniversary and since i was still feeling really bad even on the Sub, i got some heroin and smoked it. I didnt get any sort of feeling but just got my sickness gone. So that was yesterday- today I finished what I had just a few minutes ago (And i skipped my Suboxone dose so far today) so i am wondering, since there is still suboxone in my system and I only got a little buzz barely, is it safe to just resume my Sub like the whole thing never happened, or will i have to wait 24 hours all over again? It's been only a little over 36 hours since i last took my Suboxone. So I just dont want to face Precipitated WD...And if that did happen, how long does that last for? I am really hoping I can just resume it, it was a one time thing because of the situation. Please help! The longer I go without my suboxone dose, probably the less likely I can take it right away i think..right? Thanks!! :/
 
I took a habit of taking suboxone "vacations" a lot, especially when I was just getting on it. I'd personally try to wait at least 10 hours, but if you get and precipitate WD from taking it now, it will be mild and wont last more than an hour I'm suspecting. 8mg is a large dose so I doubt much of the heroin actually got through.
 
With my experience... I would suggest this...
You will probably start WD's again shortly, probably like in five or six hours or whatever time it usually took you to start when you were not using subs days ago. Just take the sub then, I do not believe you have to wait 24 hours. The minute you believe your WD's are starting, take it. That 24 hour idea was always a little extreme in my opinion, and more so towards the idea that you wont be able to get high from opiates 24 hours after taking sub , rather than the other way around where you take opiates first...then sub.
If someone wih greater knowledge comes forth and disputes this, by all means listen...
But my opinion...when that slight kick starts...sub!
 
just start taking little bits of sub if you dont want to wait, start with like .5mg wait like half an hour take another .5 and then after like another half hour you should be fine to take however much.

This is a VERY common question that has been answered in the buprenorphine megathread many times, so don't be surprised if this either gets closed or merged into there.

And no, in this situation the longer you go without suboxone the SOONER you can resume it normally. Wait 24 hours and you will be fine.

Welcome to bluelight though, and there is no set amount of time you need to wait. Just make sure you are in sufficient withdrawals to take the sub. When I was shooting dope I could take suboxone as early as 10 hours after my last shot. Your mileage may very, though.
