So is vicodin the best first time opiate?

Codeine or Vicodin (hydrocodone) are good first time opiates.

I started out with hydrocodone and now I'm addicted to opiates.

20 mg dose of hydrocodone or oxycodone are a dangerous first time dose.

Agreed, start with 5, 7.5 or 10mg maximum for those opiates. 20mg would not be very fun at all for a first time and could be dangerous indeed.

I started with codeine and almost 13 years later I'm on methadone 130 mg/day.

When I was still opiate naive (12-13 years ago), I used to get more euphoria from codeine than hydrocodone. Then for some reason the codeine just stopped working.

Early on, I never considered taking pills 2 get high. And, if I wanted to now, I'd probabbly need a whole bunch. My Best Friend, suggested we try H. She sold me on the idea, and that was my first introduction to an opiate high. At the time, I was really into Coke. Ofcourse my first time, I had some enjoyment, but more sickness. I didn't try H again, until a few years after that, and again I got sick, but also I experienced the feeling everyone talks about. I agree with the others, start off with something less potent.
