Heroin heroin vs morphine

So, i know heroin is rapidly converted to morphine. And i have read in a journal article that in a research study, participants showed equally strong preference for both when given IV as part of the research study.

I've used morphine (IV prep) and am wondering if heroin is very similar?
Please advises
 
The main difference is the BA via other routes of administration such as oral or nasal where morphine is usually very difficult to absorb and heroin is very easily able to absorb. The double acetate bond that makes morphine into heroin helps the compound enter the blood and get through the BBB although converts back into morphine by the time it reaches the receptors in the synapse. It is the same bond that makes 4-aco-dmt stable and more able to pass the BBB as well, but I am not entirely sure on that. You could even make THC-O-acetate, which is a form of THC that could be IV/IM, snorted, or even eaten

Also if I am not mistaken if it used via IV it does not convert back into morphine when it reaches the brain, but I do not know about this
 
It does, it is converted into morphine when IV'd. So if anyone has had both, i am curious what the difference is. I wasnt crazy about morphine, and if heroin feels similar, i dont think i am all that interested
 
I have iv'd both, both being amps ready for injection.

I won't pretend I know a lot about chemistry, I just have experience from feeling what chemicals do to me.

Like most people, from the moment I iv'd diamorphine (heroin) I haven't found anything that compares.

I bought morphine amps after that. If you imagine 20mg of diamorphine is a high dose for myself. When i got the morphine amps, 20mg was NOTHING iv'd. I could iv 40mg and get some effect, but not like the heroin. I actually prefer to inject the morphine into a muscle and give a longer lasting, subtler high as it is wasted on an iv rush and my veins are trashed.
 
Heroin (diacetylated ester of morphine) is basically a supercharged more potent prodrug of morphine. It crosses the blood brain barrier faster than morphine, and as your body converts it into morphine and 6-Monoacetylmorphine, many users experience a euphoric rush.

So I am curious, I know if you have shitty MS-contin which I've had the privilidge of lately, often the oral ba shittiness makes it difficult to figure out dose, and therefore overdose and then you have the nods, and a lot of morphine in your body.

I was wondering if heroin is the same way? Like can you keep dosing for the initial euphoric effects and then in 2 hours find yourself overly sedated by so much morphine in your body? And therefore you should wait when administering? (strictly, not IV administration)
 
What do you mean? Oral heroin is converted into instant release morphine. Oral MSContin is on a 12 hour time release, which is why a lot of people OD when recklessly trying to titrate their dose.
