Heroin Vs. Morphine

Now I have read that Bayer made heroin as a new alternative to morphine that was supposed to have less side effects than morphine. Can someone explain the qualitative difference between these two drugs when injected.

Heroin is 2-3 times as potent by weight, yet it converts directly into morphine after crossing the blood brain barrier faster. Its just about the same in equianalgesic doses, but injecting heroin brings a rush morphine doesnt, since it rushes into the brain faster.

Just a stupid question but if someone is allergic to Morphine (severe itching and uncontrollable vomitting) would they also have a bad reaction to Heroin?

Without a doubt yes.
But:
Vomiting and itching aren't necessarily an allergic reaction. While they could be signs of an allergy to [opiate], keep in mind they are most likely happening as a side effect.
The first time I tried Heroin I puked my left lung up. After a tolerance is built the itch and the nausea will dissipate or perhaps even become non-existant.
 
How does Methadone compair to Herion and Morphine?

I would tend to agree with you on the more addictive potential, mainly do to the fact that if you are on a Methdone treatment program, you get it everyday. Where as Herion and Morphine you might not have everyday acsess to, so you don't get a daily fix to bring you closer into addiction. But while on a Methadone treatment program, there's your smack, wrapped up into a nice and neat little clean cut package. No fuss, no muss.
Does anyone know what is physically more additive (morphine, herion or methadome) ?

Physically? Methadone. The withdrawals are horrible, much worse than kicking smack. That's a rather widely known fact. It's so odd that it's what they use to TREAT heroin addiction IMO, but there you have it.

IMO, comparing herion and methadone is like comparing sex and jerkin off. one is the ultimate high while the other suffices in the meantime. but while you can hold off on sex by jerkin off... just try to stop jerkin off when you know it's always there. that's why using metahdone to get off of herion makes no sense to me. with either of them, if you don't start, you won't have to stop.

Yea, its a very flawed method for helping some one kick. I know people who start the treatment program and then quit when the mgs get too low. Then after they quit the program they go back to the needle. I'm surpirsed the US government hasn't seen that Methadone treatment programs don't work.

heroin is 2/3 times more potent than morphine, but I have to disagree on the "morphine gives no rush" statement: when you mainline morphine you get "pins and needles" by the way I have never achieved a good nod with morphine. As far as methadone goes its half life is way longer than both heroin's and morphine's (i.e. it takes longer for your body to process it) that's why you dose every 24 hours (or 48 hours if on Orlaam that's even longer acting) and also why it takes way longer to get off it, the withdrawals onset slower than if you where on heroin and last for ever (weeks and weeks).
 
Heroin was made by Bayer as a "cough" medicine. It was also put into "soothing syrps" in the late nineteenth-century for mothers with bitchy babies. I wonder how many moms actually used it themselves. But anyway. Heroin is just diacetylmorphine. It takes much less diacetylmorphine than regular morphine. As far as methadone goes, I agree: heroin is much better. Methadone lasts longer, but the high isn't as nearly as great. Also, in a Methadone Clinic, you never know when your dose is being tappered down; i've heard it helps people from going into emotional / mental withdrawals again.
 
Re: Nausea - why not do what the hospitals do.. chow down some Maxolon, and hey - nausea is gone! There'll be no vomitting!
If you get morphine in hospital, you also get maxolon to stop you vomitting. Maxolon is easy to get - claim motion sickness, going on a trip, easy.
