Hey,
I was wondering if you regret your first time with heroin, did it affect your life in bad way and so on; generally, how you look at it from time perspective

Can we have a poll, please? :)
Options:
-I did heroin and it was bad
-I did heroin and I don't know what to think about it
-I did heroin and think it didn't influence my life badly/it was neutral
-I didn't use heroin and I don't want to
-I didn't use heroin and I considering taking it
-I didn't use heroin and I want to

Now I'm at the "I didn't use heroin and I considering taking it" stage

pzdr

I did Heroin once and it didn't influence my life badly.

However if I had a regular dealer or knew someone who could get me it I'd probably be doing it regularly.

I tried it once awhile back. Not IV. I carrioed that thing around all day scared to try it.
Then I said F it dumped the whole thing out. Split it with someone and snorted it.
I was a raging crack addict at the time. So I didnt really like it. It made me feel floaty. And all I wanted to do was eat coleslaw and drink milkshakes. And I couldnt find any rocks. SO that was pissing me off.

Not my thing. But when I moved to NY. Seems like everyone here is on it. SO I started getting curious. Too curious. But I stopped smoking rocks. Just in time I think. I would be instant junky for sure if I let my curiosity get the best of me.

We don't typically allow polls in OD, but I think I might let this one go.

For me personally, I don't regret a minute of my heroin addiction. If I could go back, I wouldn't change a single thing. Something like a really bad addiction can do one of two things: change you for the worse, or change you for the better. You learn a lot about yourself that you wouldn't learn any other way. If it weren't for heroin, I wouldn't be the person I am today. That may not be a good thing to some, but to the people that matter, it's so much better than the person I was before.

i've done heroin, i used to be addicted to it IV. i do not regret it, the drug itself didn't cause any harm to me, the prohibition on the other hand, did.

i have a steady connect and have been doing it sporadically for over a year,
i dont really have an addictive personality and i've never withdrawn so no regrets.

I've been offered some nice jersey dope a few times and it took me a while to weigh the pros and cons. My roommate who's done it convinced me it steals your soul and regardless of how retarded that may seem, it kept me away. I don't need to like the opes more than I already do.

I've never done it but I really want to.

It's not easy to find around here...(I haven't really been looking that hard, but I have been looking)

i dont regret it at all. i regret a whole lot of what i have and havent done in my life, but that is not one of them. ive never been addicted and can use for multiple days and then not use for weeks. im one of the lucky ones.

A few weeks before new years 2008 I tried some dope for the first time. I snorted a few bumps and it was absolutely amazing-hit harder than any opie I've done before and felt more 'clean' than any opie I've done. To bring in the new year of 08 was the first time I used it IV. It was pure bliss. I've always kept my usage in check, as I know the horror stories that has been associated with it.

For my personal usage I do not regret, but what I do regret is introducing it IV to my bro.

April of 08 my parents found him blue on the bathroom floor, not breathing, with a needle still in his arm. Luckily they caught it in time and the paramedics were able to revive him with narcan.

My brother has been hooked ever since, and is now facing a minimum of 1 yr in prison, max of 12 (hasn't been to trial yet) for crimes related to trying to support his habit.

I've carried this guilt with me ever since, and probably will for quite some time.

As sad as it is, you can't blame yourself for it. Introducing someone to something does not make you responsible for what that person chooses to do with it. Were you there with a gun to his head the day he OD'ed? Probably not. It was his choice and his choice alone.

I feel for ya, but blaming yourself is not the way to handle it. I know it's hard, though. My friends all blame me for their addictions. Kind of reverse of what you said, but when so many people say the same thing to you, you start to believe it.

I've never tried it, and I've never wanted to. I've heard so many horror stories, and friends/aquaintances who have been into it at some point (some were still into it at the time) have all warned me off - and if someone who is still using warns you off, it's not a great incentive to start IMO.

Well, actually I kinda-tried it once - some guy I met in a pub invited me out the back to smoke a joint with him - it was already rolled and in his pocket. When I took a toke, I noticed it smelled and tasted unusual and didn't smell like marijuana in the least. When I asked him what was in it, he replied 'brown', so I declined to smoke any more. I had only taken a small exploratory toke as a lot of people in the UK mix in way more tobacco with their cannabis than my lungs can stand, so I didn't inhale enough to feel any effects (I sound like Clinton, haha).

I've used heroin on and off for the past year and 3 months.

I said that I regret it in the poll, but I don't regret everything about it.

I regret a lot of things I did for the addiction, I regret the people I hurt for it. At the same time, it taught me a lot. It helped grow a pair and learn to stand up for myself (well, at least a lot more than I used to when I was a human doormat that was covered in dog shit). It gave me life experience.

So yeah, I could have had the positives in less destructive ways, so I said I regret it.

Thanks for the kind words sixpartseven, I've been told that by my brother but still I feel somewhat responsible.

This msg is to Captain.Heroin as I cannot send pms until I reach bluelighter status (I just recently stumbled across this site, wonderful place if I might add), the incident was the 18th of Apr.

If a mod could shoot him a pm for me to see he gets this msg it would be greatly appreciated. Take care all!

Did it about 5-6 times a few months ago, didn't really affect me in any way afterward.

I have been an off and on user for about 15 years some good times some bad, the main concern is harm reduction, especially if iv, say you cook up and use the same water out of the cup a friend is using is it clean? i went 5 years thinking i had aids hep c etc,

i got the all clear a few months ago (few!) and it would not be so bad if it was pure, i mean the dealers don't give a shit about us and what they cut it with,

I'm all for legal morphine amps if you have a problem, keep hearing things about this but a pipe dream in my honest opinion. heroin the only drug that beat me into addiction.

i did it and was addicted for a while. I sort of regret it because it blew so much money on it, but i sort of don't because i love it.
