I am needing to make that jump to suboxone and get off drugs, especially after I have started using heroin. I've been doing the heroin for 4 months now, I have some oxycodone and dilaudid pills, short acting pills. Should I just go from the heroin to suboxone, or should I go from the heroin to the oxycodone for a few days then to suboxone. I know my addict brain keeps making all kinds of excuses because I have tried to get to suboxone but keep failing and back to heroin. So is this Idea of going to pills first instead of heroin to the sub just my addicted mind keeping me on pills a little bit longer? What should I do here please. I am wanting to avoid the precipitated wds. It's getting hopeless and I know where that leads to. The last times I went to Sub, I went in precipitated wd"s......... So I'm definitely wanting to avoid this. My thinking here is that the heroin I'm taking could have some long half life stuff in it, there for throwing me in to precipitated wd's. My withdrawals while coming off of heroin, then to sub, or take some pills a few days then go through wd's then to sub...... Thanks to all that help

Hey formetono, what's up?

Chances are good you are going to have to deal with withdrawals. Some people, I have read, get lucky, and then they don't deal with any noticeable withdrawal symptoms...and typically they use again and a week later are hurting hard.

I think you are going to have to ball up your fists, and step through that door to sobriety with a mission, willing to hurt in order to break those chains.

Here is a link to a great thread about overcoming opiate addiction.
