(Heroin) sore and bruised after shot

SWIM did a shot earlier and had to poke around quite a bit and ended up missing. After the shot SWIM's arm was sore and the area was a yellowish bruised color. The pain is going down and so is the swelling so should SWIM be concerned? Would an abscess cause this bruising?

Hi - obviously if it becomes infected or starts to get worse / gross - then get medical attention. But generally it's nothing to worry about. In fact, it's incredibly common to get this kind of bruising, especially if you missed any of your shot.

It's pretty rare to get an abscess and you'll know about it - because it will get worse not better.

I wouldnt be worried. Running the sore spot under some warm water and a bit of rubbing will feel good.

Thanks everyone... Bruising has subsided and the soreness is almost gone the next day
