Heroin solidifying once in the syringe

Every now and then after I cook up some heroin and boot it up in the syringe it'll solidify while in the syringe and then I have to cut the syringe open and then recook it (or I'll lose it in some cases). Why does this happen? What can I do to prevent it?
 
are you use citric acid? or is it from a pack... could be using baking powder as a cut... bad idea shady shit
 
I'm not using citric acid. The heroin is in powder form if it makes any difference. Also, I'm pretty sure it's decent stuff. I can get heroin from multiple sources and I'm told by friends who have been junkies for years that it's decent stuff.
 
Do you heat? Some particles might dissolve under heat but soon precipitate when cool. You might be shooting useless shit. Heroin Hcl should be VERY water soluble so anything that dosnt dissolve isnt heroin.
 
I heat it a bit. I'm just doing exactly what someone who's been shooting it for years has shown me what to do. It's definitely not useless because I get majorly high from it.
 
Im saying the stuff that precipitates is useless and may even be harmful. Not the heroin. If it's No.4 then you shouldnt need to heat it at all.
 
I'll try not heating it then. I always didn't want to because I know it's no. 4 but once again, I was taught to heat this particular stuff for whatever reason.
 
Roger. I'll avoid cooking it in the future then and hopefully this solves the issue. Thanks for your help.
 
By the way, since I'm not going to be cooking it I assume I'll need to stir the powder up a bit. What's the best way to do this? Using the needle tip?
 
best way to stir in my opinion and experience is to use the rubber at the end of the plunger. pull it out of your rig, and swirl it around in your spoon. try to get the excess gunk off (if there is any) then put it back into the rig. Once you filter and draw your solution up, shake it a few times to make sure everything is dissolved properly.

I was always afraid that would contaminate a clean syringe, I usually want only the filtered solution touching anything inside of my sterile syringe. Im always afraid this will promote bacteria. I never re-use a syringe more then once too even if the shots are 2 min. apart. I think I'm just way to paranoid when it comes to sterile clean practice when it comes to IVing. Im a RN that works in the ER at a large hospital so I'm constantly giving people shots and doing IV's so I'm very familar with techniques of sterile IV injections. Stirring the solution with the plunger just seems like a bad idea. Although I don't think it could introduce anything worse into your syringe or body then the drugs being shot them selves. So maybe were all just crazy for caring about sterility and then shooting street drugs.
 
Yeah, it doesnt make any difference. The drug isnt sterile, so the shot cant be sterile. The best thing to do is be clean about it; wash your hands, be careful of what touches what, etc.

Heating powder is a bad idea. Thats probably why your having this problem. Heat is also opiates worse thing.

What if he got European style heroin (#3?)

Heroin in EU is mostly base and also looks like light brownish to yellowish powder sometimes almost white and you have to cook it with ascorbic or citric acid to prepare it for IV. (vinegar also comes to mind).

Best practice is to use pure ascorbic acid powder. NEVER USE CRUSHED VITAMIN C PILLS MEANT FOR ORAL USE! as they contain binders like starch and shit like micro crystalline cellulose.

I won't even get into using lemon juice or other similar stuff. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. VERY DANGEROUS. YOU CAN GO BLIND FROM IT. AND THAT'S ONLY BEGINNING OF BAD STUFF. GO AND BUY A BAGGIE OF CITRIC ACID. IT COSTS CLOSE TO NOTHING. If you use lemon juice might as well use spit instead of water or grab some from a toilet bowl. Also poke needle in the piece of shit while you're at it. So remember. DON'T DO THIS. DON"T BE A RETARD. If you are set on using heroin iv at least do it properly.

In Europe most people tend to use citric as it's readily available (you can buy it in any store versus pharmacies only for pure vit c)

Important thing is to add only as much as it needs to dissolve the heroin (usually 5-6 crystal pieces of citric are enough for a shot while it takes a bit more of ascorbic). You don't want to acidify the shot unnecessarily. It won't make a shot stronger.

There are also vit c baggies handed out at needle exchanges and it's usually enough to add around 20-30mg of it to cook a shot. That is way less then full baggie which is I think 80 or 100mg and people tend to just empty the whole bag into spoon. THAT IS UNNECESSARY!

Also for you US guys, it's not bad practice to boil the water if you don't have access to sterile ampules. Pre-cook some water on the stove, let it boil for 15 minutes then use it in your shot. Beats using straight from tap water any day imo.

Back in my darkest days, I've actually seen a guy who was very sick suck water right out of a Mcdonalds toilet. He couldn't wait for the people to finish washing their hands at the sink. He's clean 10 years now with no health problems. I don't recommend this procedure, but if you're shooting smack I think the last thing you should be worried about is sterility. Kinda like the alcohol swabbing when they give a lethal injection--pointless.

Where do I start ..

Ok how about a friend of mine who was shooting H for 10+ years.

He never shared a needle, always cared for hygiene. Never catched hep c or aids.

And now he's clean since 2002. Got a son in the meantime, makes VERY good cash, has a SMOKING HOT wife. Makes 6 digit sum / year and leads happy and productive life. He's on subs and intends to stay on them though.
All that wouldn't be possible if he ruined his health with bad hygiene.
 
GEEZ, so I worded the "RETARDED" part a little wrong. All I wanted to say was that 95% of people who shoot heroin CONSTANTLY could give a shit less about the sterility of it. So you have an extremely lucky friend, like .001% of all addicts who have shot up for that long. I haven't had an H habit for 13 years, and I never needed pills or methadone to stay off it. Why didn't you attack the moderator(unknown) who basically said the same thing as I did in less words, that the shot can't be sterile because the heroin is not sterile. You can minimize the needle risks, but that's about it. I see you are that 1 guy that has to pick apart everyone's posts word for word(troll) to make themselves feel superior.
