Hillarious story mate. I thought they only used "youse" as the plural for you like "vous" in francais in the italian-American neighborhoods of Philadelphia.

Anway, you got us all worried CB mate- hopefully you are getting help not persuing a run. Remember darkside forum is your friend. One is most vulnerable after some time clean- tolearnce drops to a fraction of what it was which probably wasn't much when the drought was on. But don't beat yourself up, you came a long way.

Crazy- forget the Hurricaine, but an Earthquake on the East Coast centered in Virginia. A radio commentator opined, "California is so broke (were earthquake country), that the Earthquakes are even relocating.8) Cheesy, I know, but I thought it was funny. Maybe Switzerland, Sweden, or Norway are next on the list.

2 days after a month long drinking binge after almost 3 years without, and my hands have just stoped shaking earlier today- EtOH, what a horrible drug. Cradiotoxic, hepatotoxic, makes you swollen and feel like shite the next morning.

I think it's a regional thing but I've never heard it being used outside Scotland. The crisis loan department was always a dodgy place to wait. One day I was sitting waiting for my name to be called when I've heard MICK (my first name) I looked round and watched this crazy, angry looking woman storming towards me and I'm thinking: OMG, who are you, I don't know you, why are you charging towards me all angry? Then she's got to me and slapped the guy sitting next to me full force across the face, then chased him out whilst kicking him up the arse. He was Mick also. I heard his name being called but he'd been chased away. I eventually got the story about who she was and why she hated that Mick. That guy Mick and his pals had previously booted the shit out of her brother and left him for dead. He ended up with permanent brain damage. Turns out I knew/know her brother and he is a really nice guy (he''s a friend of a friend) Turns out he never provoked that attack and those guys took a total liberty on the guy. It's a real shame coz Andy is one of the nicest guys I've ever met.

@jspun: 'Yous/youse' is used quite a lot in Dublin also - more so in the North inner city where the accent is thicker, grammer typically terrible and all in all generally less audible than its more southern, suburban counterpart. I have an inner city twang myself (which I'm proud of) and I use it casually; depends on the company (not that I make any effort towards pretence, but when you're trying to have a conversation with someone who utters only mono-syllables then you've a much greater chance at getting your point across when you meet them at their level - which...probably makes me sound like an arrogant twat, but I'm really not; I'm dead nice).

My mate - rest his soul alas - used to always say that about a friend of mine when we first met him, and I've heard other mainliners say it too so you're definitely not alone on that one pal.

I don't mainline myself - my mate shot me up once and didnt exactly do it properly so I just considered myself lucky more than anything else and never tried again - never will either man, fuck that - its just not for me. If I died from shooting up heroin it would destroy my family - fucking destroy them.

Youse used in Dublin but also Yissers, why so?

'Youse' is used in conjunction with 'are' to make 'Youse are', but when its voiced in a Dublin accent its generally said at such a speed that its pronounced 'yissar/yisser'.
Then again, 'yissar/yissar' is sometimes used in parts of the inner city in place of 'your', eg "Pick up yisser [your] jacket."

When I was in hospital the doctor taking blood samples and putting the drip back in my arm commented on how pronounced my veins were...
I thought to myself: "Too fucking right, just be grateful I've not touched a needle..."

I don't know how long I've been using now, periods of time are not my strong point. But I remember typing on here a couple of years back that I wouldn't go down that road.. and I haven't!
Which is rather surprising, a form of pleasant one ofcourse.

^ I totally 100% agree with you on that. I thought I was making it all up in my mind, actually convincing my own body to give me WD's. But yeh, if I smoke/inject any heroin now, i'll be addicted again after two days, not bad WD's at all, but still get no-sleeping, slight skin crawling, sneezing. It's bizzare, anyone clued up fancy explaining some science behind it or something ? I'd actually really like to know, because when I hadn't got a habbit, and didn't know pretty much anything about heroin, would smoke it for days and days and stop and feel perfectly normal.

This is just a guess so i probably shouldn't post it but it can't hurt anyone so I'll post it anyway! I was thinking maybe that once you've had a long term habit you may have altered the receptors in a way that they never go back to normal, don't know any of the science behind so I hope someone who is clued up can shed some light?
