I've been using smack since october last year, using on average about once a fortnight. This is an experience I had with a good friend of mine I think worths writing about.
I'd picked up about $100 worth and was speeding (well not really, just driving aggressively
) to my mates place so we could have it. I arrived at his place and honked the horn. He runs out with a big grin on his face and gives me a thumbs up.
"Hey man, lets just drive up to the spot up the road hey? I can't be bothered driving to our usual spot to have a taste". Alex agrees and we drive to a spot just up the road where there is a small car park. It was a good distance from the road and neither of us was stressing about being caught.
I park and grab my stuff from the glove box, syringes, spoon, cotton ball etc. I dump all the smack on the spoon, mix up, and ask Alex if he would do me up.
I only had half of it in me when I knew it was good. My heart started racing and I had the most amazing warmth radiate out from my chest and spread all over my body. During the initial rush everything was.. well, shakey, is the best word I can use to describe it. Must be why one of the slang names for Heroin is 'hammer' because thats what it felt like. I then slumped back in my seat and sighed. I was comfy, calm and loving it.
Alex had his and just sat back and said "mmm that was absolutely delicious". I managed to croak out a laugh and just sat looking towards the road, watching cars go by.
After sitting there for about 5 minutes Alex asks if we should have a cigarette. We have one and it is the best smoke I've had all day.
I have to smile as I write this because people who have never done any kind of opiate may be thinking "sounds boring as!" Whereas the people who use smack etc must be watering out the mouth. I know I have a bit of an itch at the moment :D
After we smoked a few pipes of pot Alex wanted to get some chicken from a fast food place. I managed to sit up and drive him there. On the way we decided after we'd bought the chicken we'd buy some more pot.
When we arrived though they told us to come back in an hour. So we went to another car park and had a cigarette.
By this time it was dark and I was really happy and euphoric. I put the radio on low and sat back and closed my eyes. My breathing was shallow but it felt great. As I nodded out I sunk back in my seat and went into this state I'd never been in while on smack. I was still awake, but when I closed my eyes I'd see flashes of people and places. It was like I was dreaming.
The whole time though I still felt Alex's presence. I can understand why people would consider heroin an anti-social drug. I disagree though. Just lately for me, I could think of not many things better then sitting back, nodding out with a good friend while I play some tunes and have a quiet chat when I can be bothered talking.
I sound like such an addict.
"Russ, its ten to ten man, want to go grab that stick?" Alex asked me. Needless to say, we ended up getting some pot. Eventually (after about 3 hours or so) the heroin did wear off, but we had a nice afterglow and were quite stoned :D
And thats it. Thought it was worth telling, even though it's not a trip as in "oh man I'm seeing colours melting".
