i injected about a keybump amount of heroin for the first time and it was very mild. the rush was barely noticable and the effects only lasted about 2 hours. am i expecting to get a lot out of a small amount of heroin or is this just bad quality heroin? and as far as getting higher quality heroin goes, would heroin purchased from some mexicans in downtown la be any better/worse than some purchased from blacks in compton, or is it all pretty much the same in one area?

Ok first of your post needs to be closed. Look at the forum guidelines and read the rules about threads before posting please cause this is just ignunce. You are just asking for a hook up and thats not aloud sorry to be the fucker of your post but i have been chewed out before about ym posts until i got the idea. but to answer your question......Have you tried or done heroin before you banged this keybump?? b/c i said this is maybey if you did your tolerance as built up a LITTLE so you might need a bit more that usual to feel the same effects.
But for the the whole purity goes I don't know you need to read up on it before you do anything with this drug(not saying you haven't)but it really doesn't matter what kinda person and place you get it form cause smack is smack. peace and have fun!

Well the problem with heroin is that purity varies WIDELY. Depends where you live and who you know and how well you know your dope. If it's not super strong then I would just go ahead and shoot some more. Once you shoot for the first time and can approximate a dose you can work on getting the rush, but KNOW YOUR DOPE FIRST. Tar potency varies so much it's rediculous so EVERYTIME you cop more dope, do a small tester shot that won't result in an OD.
As far as copping in LA, the Mexicans ALWAYS have the good dope. I used to hookup downtown. Don't venture to Compton searching for heroin, you'll most likely only find crack and bad attitudes. I don't think black guys sell H in Los Angeles, seeing as how chiba is controlled by the Mexicans (distribution to street sales). Stick to DT LA. Also you say you used a 'key bump'? Are you using powder or tar? I've never heard of powder in LA, all there is is tar unless you're really hooked up in the smack scene well enough to find some imported powder.

A good size "key bump" should be an ample amount - so I would say you got some cut shit, of course, most all heroin is going to be cut, but you just got something that has been stepped on more then others .. so the obvious answer is to do more .. of course a "key bump" isn't an exact unit of measure, but if one bump didn't do ya, do another!
 
thanks for the advice. by key bump i ment i had torn a piece off (it was black tar) about the width of a key. sorry for any confusion. i injected twice as much tonight and it was so much better. however, i still did not really get the rush. could this be because i had forgotten to loosen the torniquet until i had injected about half of it?
 
I've shot a variety of tar ranging from Downtown Los Angeles shit to Downtown Denver shit and I've found that tar is difficult to gauge in terms visually identifying purity just because of the nature of the stuff. It looks like SHIT. Even the worst looking stuff can often end up being the best, as has been the case for me on several occasions.
If you're worrying about cut, just examine the stuff. Obviously if it was professionally cut, it's going to be hard to notice, but if we're taking mixed in coffee grinds (which I've NEVER encountered) you might be able to notice.
Is it all in one even-looking clump/rock? It should have a similar consistancy throughout, that's to say the color shouldn't differ too much nor should the texture. If you're copping in LA, try and find some shit that's really sticky and moldable like opium. I've found that more often than not that's the good shit. I've also run into the really hard stuff which I needed to use a knife to break up. Despite the texture, I've found both variations to be pretty good.
The best shit I got recently looked absolutely disgusting. It honestly looked like clumped together rabbit shit and it was two tone: a dark brown and a light brown. First thing I thought when I saw it was "Oh shit, I'm going to put THAT in my vein? Yikes" But seeing as how I've paid my dues to the opiate gods, I figured all would be well. I bought a gram and went home to test it was definitely the best stuff I've had in a while.
Another good method I use to discern if tar heroin is legit/strong, is smell. Smell the stuff. GOOD TAR SMELLS SO STRONG. If you know what it smells like you know what I mean. Some people say it smells like vinegar. I'm not really one of those people. Tar heroin smells like tar heroin, once you know what it smells like you'll know right away if what you got is good.
If you want to be sure you're getting the best stuff, try and stay away from street dealers and search for a house connect, if you can. They'll even give out samples if you're a good customer.
 
the texture is consistant. there are no grains or anything like that visable, it's just one little black block. pulling pieces of it off is just like breaking off taffy, i didn't need a knife or anything. i was wondering, has anyone ever had dry mouth after iv heroin use? my friend and i both felt it about an hour and a half later. i don't recall reading about it has a side effect of heroin use. could it be caused by something the heroin was cut with?
 
thanks for all the replies, i really appreciate the help. i got some more black tar and injected another key bump sized piece to see how strong it was. i got a little out of it so i went ahead and injected the rest. now i just feel nauseous and a little cloudly. i actually felt better when i injected 2/3 of the same amount last week! this is my third time doing heroin, is my body just not used to this much?

i did the same amount again today and pretty much felt the same. my stomach was a bit more queasy at some points. i don't really have anything to compare it to so i can't be sure if this heroin is just shitty. i think i am going to look for a different source. also, i have read about veins collapsing when used over and over. does this only apply to people who are shooting up a few times a day? i only do it on the weekends and even then i switch between the big vein in the crook on my right arm and the big vein in the crook of my left arm.
 
Drymouth is a common side effect of opioids, yeah.
Tar is in general very shitty, I've never had a particularly good time on it. You can try taking more, but be careful! It's not hard to OD on heroin unless you are very experienced in gauging how strong it is when you shoot. (I learned this the hard way.)
If you notice yourself completely healing -- no marks or anything -- by the time you shoot again, I'd guess you're not gonna collapse anything. But someone with more IV experience than I should speak up here....
