Heroin Pills Compared to Painkillers

So I recently got into prescription painkillers (hydrocodone and oxycodone) and while I was pretty disinterested in heroin before, I've gotta admit that these are starting to change my mind. They're so good that if there's something even better I can't pass that up. But while slamming heroin is obviously the best feeling in the world, how does the feeling compare to oxy when you just ingest heroin? I might snort or inhale it too if I can't get it as a pill, but my preferred ROA would be oral. Is the feeling of eating it just as good or almost as good as shooting it, but just without the rush? And is it going to be much more mentally addictive than oxy is? Like when I come down from oxy I have an urge to pop another one, but I always resist it so I can stick to my self-imposed once a week quota; will the urge be significantly harder to resist with heroin? And finally, if I do decide to take heroin as a pill, what dose should I aim for (even though I know it's kinda hard to tell with heroin since it's generally cut a lot)?

It won't be much better than popping oxycodone/hydromorphone, since heroin WILL get deacetylated by stomach and turned back to morphine. You will just waste heroin. If you don't want to slam it, you can plug it. Rush is not comparable to IV, but its still there. Also, opiates are slippery shit, but you know it probably.

If oxy "feels so good" I would say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Stay in oxy land . No need to tempt yourself with something of unknown purity that you might not be able to put it down. At least with oxy you know (so far) you can control your usage.

Would snorting it give a good rush too, comparable to plugging it? I'd prefer not to plug it either; that's a little intense for me lol. I'd be willing to rail it if that'd work though. Would it still be a waste or worth it?

I have always found oxy to be more moreish than other oral opiates. also the fact that oxy can be snorted doesn't help with that. I took heroin for pain and recreation for years, never shot only smoked and waterlined (and tried plugging but sticking things in my butt doesn't work, Id run out of anal cavity space before I caught a buzz). One of the reasons I liked snorting it was because some of the dope would drip into my stomach and turn into morphine (which settles the hell out of my tummy). When I tried giving up smoking and sniffing because mexi-tar is a caustic caustic substance, eating it didn't come close to even making me feel better muchless get me high. whats funny is shortly after I was prescribed instant release morphine tablets and they worked just fine (had to take a bunch but thats just my tolly). I recently had my prescription switched to oxy from morphine because the oral bioavailability difference is so extreme that oxy works Way better orally in the same dosage as morphine (YMMV). And I can snort my oxy if i need to.

Heroin "Pills" as far as i understand, are just a regional method of packaging powdered heroin like balloons on the west coast or stamp bags on the east. A "pill" is not a standardized dose, or even a standardized weight from dealer to dealer. The word "pill" is just a synonym for "bag" in this circumstance.

ALSO: why use words/phrases like "tempt" and " might not be able to put it down" in an attempt to dissuade someone from trying heroin. The whole "its so good don't even try it once" thing creates this super mythological status for heroin that totally makes people feel like their missing out on something. This is misleading, because they're not. What most people are talking about being "too good" is IV use, heroin is really just an opiate. Furthermore, virtually any drug via IV use could come with the same warnings, there's not some magical property of heroin that makes it better to shoot or snort than other drugs. Smoking it, wasteful as it is, has a special place in my heart simply because I really like to smoke things, its relaxing, and since i can't just stroll into the local opium den, there's something appealing about chasing the dragon simply by being the only smokeable opiate that's readily accessible.

SpeedyB': all that said, since you seem to like opiates, there's no reason not to rotate up your pills a bit- try oral morphine sulfate pills: they're usually cheaper than oxy because people can't snort em and when I first tried MS pills after being on oxy and vic and codeine everyday, it was like a whole different drug. It was my all time favorite opiate for a very long time. Recently, after months on the stuff and years alternating between morphine and heroin, switching back to oxycodone had that same "oh this is whats been missing" feeling that I had when i initially switched from the XX-codones to morph/heroin.

Thanks for the tips and for sharing your personal experience CTD. I was once offered morphine sulfate, but at the time the dealer only had 100 mg pills which I thought would be a bit much compared to the opioid doses I was used to, and would probably be rather expensive compared to the 10mg Percocets and Norcos I'm used to paying for. Plus my friend told me that he once did morphine and had a rather boring experience, due to its low oral bioavailability. But regardless once I get tired of the codones and am looking for something new I might try morphine, but at the moment I'm pretty much just starting on these, since I've only done them twice so far (one 20mg dose of hydro and one 10mg dose of oxy).

then i take that back. while i tihnk addiction is a perfectly valid life experience and stage of development for certain people, I DO NOT advocate voluntarily getting yourself hooked on pills to the point that med rotation is ever necessary If your 10 mg oxy was apap (perc) as i'm sure your hydro probably was, your still getting recreation effects from doses equal or smaller to the doses that are prescribed to many people. My daily prescription would literally kill you, I'm used to giving advice to people with serious opiate habits, either from chronic pain, the needle, or both. Has the illegal pill market really gotten so bad that people go from mild tylenol based pain meds to heroin overnight without a serious of "checkpoints" in between? I'm only 26 and i feel like starting a rant with "back in my day..."

I don't think any drug really needs to be "progressed" towards or has any kind of prequisites that need to be taken before taking it. For some people heroin is even their very first opioid. So I don't really think it matters that I've only taken opioids with APAP in them, and it wouldn't even matter if I hadn't taken any at all...

Sure, you don't * need* to cross everything else off as you progress towards H, and I'm sure some peoples first opiate experience was with H, although for various reasons, that's usually not the case.
I guess I'm saying mostly from a logic standpoint, that if very low dose oxy and even hydro gets you feeling good, why not cherish this time (it won't last long)? For so many reasons.. It's easy to do too much H with no opiate tolerance, your Oxys are cheap and legal. Oxy is regulated so no worries about fillers and cuts. Using a different ROA which you'll be tempted to do as oral H is pretty much unheard of... Will increase the rush and therefore higher addiction potential.
You're going to do what you're going to do,, please stay safe!

^oxy is actually expensive as hell compared to heroin. I agree OP should definitely stick to oxy though. Heroin is just mo' problems. Way mo'.

@ Crashing, I was actually thinking of a legal script :)
But using 10mg once a week wouldn't be so bad, price wise , as long as it didn't become more-ish for the OP.
