Heroin heroin OD unpleasant?

I'm just wondering cuz a few ppl I knew died like that and i guess it's just morbid curiosity.
I've heard some ppl say u just get a huge rush and fall asleep, but i'm thinking of the few times i've done too much and ended up going back and forth between vomiting and passing out and having a huge headache, it wasn't fun. Plus for me, when my tolerance got bigger, shooting it all at once made me so itchy it was painful, and the bigger the shot and the faster i did it, the worse it was, to the point that it could just about ruin the rush (but not quite :)). So i'm imagining if someone did enough to die, it would it hurt like a mother fucker, right?
 
I don't think so ixy. The overdoses I've had, where I did enough to really do damage, I just blacked out. I was really high.. too high actually, where I knew something was wrong and then just black—darkness. The pain came when I woke up and my head and body was aching beyond belief. However, if the paramedics wouldn't have been there to bring me around, I would have gone out without any pain. Now, just taking a little too much dope can be unpleasant, with the puking and headache and all, but I don't consider that a full blown OD. The OD's our loved ones who have gone out experienced where the kind where they just blacked out and faded away. I'm grateful because I don't want to think of my friends having died in pain.

I am feeling kinda uncomfortable right now as I dosed wayyyyy too much oxymorphone on top of other drugs, I would sooooo rather feel like I haven't done enough than feel like this, if this helps answer your question OP.

And, I know the feeling.. sometimes you just over do it. Once you cross that threshold, you really do feel like shit and wish you'd have held back a bit.
 
i ODed a few months ago. the whole time i was unconscious just felt like one big nod. it wasnt unpleasant, though i was a bit confused. it was like a dream and it felt like hours. next thing i know im in the ER with a iv of narcan. lately ive actually been thinking about how a nice way to die that would be.. you kid of just drift off until your brain completely goes dead. its a peaceful death and its better to die buzzed than sober
 
I wouldn't say its unpleasant until yolu wake up in the hospital from a shot of narcan. When you OD from heroin.. you become unconcious.. other wise you would be able to realize whats happening, call 911 etc.. But when someone OD's if there is not someone there with them.. chances are they are fucked.
 
Fuck, there is no worse feeling than waking up with ice in your veins from a shot of Narcan.. I remember the first time I ever got hit with that shit. I was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital after an OD, and the paramedic says he's going to give me some Narcan so I don't fall back under.. I'm like, whatever.. I'd never heard of it. He hits me, and fuck! I start shivering uncontrollably, puking.. it was like compressing a week of withdrawals into 40 minutes. It's a life saver though.
 
I have over dosed twice on heroin. All i can remember is that that i injected around .2 of some very strong heroin and as the rush came up i began to nod i blinked next thing i knew i was laying underneath my computer desk. I had been laying there for around an hour. I had blue lips pale clammy skin i felt very cold. as i stood back up the room kinda went in and out of focus. Very strange experience for sure. I have no idea how i lived to tell the tale. The key to avoid oding is just to titrate doses and be careful with new batches of dope.

you know i think about that exact thing if i were to off my self that would be my method. Not that im going to do it, but i do ponder on it.
 
Once you're out you don't feel anything. So, it depends on how you get to that point. If it's just from a big shot, yeah, all you'll remember is "damn, this rush is huge." Otherwise, it might be a bitch if you're on a "delayed" OD due to dragged out dosing or the inclusion of other depressants.
 
When I overdosed from methadone the first time, I knew something was wrong and I freaked out for a good hour before waking up in the hospital from Narcan.

My second OD, I felt nothing until I woke up from the coma.
 
When I overdosed it wasn't a flatline OD, but if I wasn't brought to the ER, I would have died within a few hours. I had consumed something like 90mg of methadone, 10mg of clonazepam, shot three bags of dope all within 12 hours. what happened with me was that I popped a bunch of the clonazepam, and then shot some heroin. I remember feeling like the sedation was way more intense than usual, and i was with a friend in a park at the time, and we decided to head over to his house. When we got there, I passed out on his bed. He woke me up because I was weezing and my breathing was super shallow, and suggested i go home (I lived across the street). I managed to make it into my house, but I had entered a blackout by this point. I dont remember this, but supposedly my mom found me slumped on the kitchen floor, foaming from the mouth, with a can of chef boy'r'd's in my hand...

I've also had real close calls where I did way to much dope, and i remember the rush would be super intense but not in a pleasant way. I'd begin to get tunnel vision, and drool uncontrollably and vomit.

Some people just go out, for other people its not so painless.
 
Sometimes when I've smoked a lot of tar like a half gram of good shit with a moderate tolerance I get this feeling that if I fall asleep or close my eyes I might not wake up. Is there any proof that sleeping increases the risk of death, or is the fact I can think this mean I'm not close?

Most of the replies seem to be for IV heroin. Does anyone have smoked/snorted OD they'd like to share?
 
I was hanging out with a guy today who told me he very recently OD'ed from sniffing heroin. He's from the west coast where they have tar and he doesnt IV and said out there he would mix it with water and try and make the tar/goo/water mix and shoot it up his nose with an oral syringe or somehow stiff it (I've 'sniffed' remnants of the left overs on a spoon used to cook powder dope). I asked him what else he took as it's my understanding most 'heroin' OD's are actually heroin and benzo or heroin and barbituate or whatever combo OD's. He said he only had 1 klonopin in his system and he has a tolerance to benzo's (he'll eat a few xanax bars along with drinking several drinks and be toasted but not passed out or totally out of it).

He also said that he was careful in only sniffing small ammt's and taking breaks inbetween but wound up waking up in the hospital after othes called 911 to assist him. He's new to the area and unfamiliar with powder dope on the east coast but we are not in an area known for the strong dope that is in some area's on the east coast. I don;t know him that well so was not/am not sure what to make of his story but seriously doubt he had very strong dope. He insists he only had 1 klonopin. Didn't ask about ammt of alcohol he consumed so that's a missing piece and he had a 'cpl glasses of wine' when he woke up this morning and when I was hanging out with him he def looked like he was lit on at least booze, prob benzo's too and know he does opiate pills but we were just hanging out, I wasn't trying to get some detailed info from him about his use or anything, Im just a new friend of his, not his doctor.

Have other's OD'ed or heard of ppl OD'ing from being careful in thier dope sniffing (and he does have a current opiate tolerance, albeit roxy's I think) and if on something else being well below what their average use of the 2nd and possibly 3rd substance they had in their systems?

Story seemed strange to me given his opiate tolerance and tolerance to other stuff and saying only 1 benzo pill when I know he chews them like m n' m's. He swears he only sniffed small ammt's with breaks to see how it effected him. At first I though maybe he was attributing nodding off and passing out as 'ODing', that's when I learned that he had 911 called on him and was taken to the er.

I've never heard of someone ODing from sniffing before. I told him of my one OD experience IVing before and how I very rarely administer that way b/c the event really scared me. I'm getting the sense that he's more of a loose cannon every time we hang out but am really curious about frequency of OD from dope sniffing assuming it's not someone with no tolerance or not mixing with other stuff in excess.

I sniff and do low ammt of benzo's and nod or pass out depending on how much I sniff but am aware ahead of time this will happen and only stiff the pass out ammt's if it's past my bedtime and I'm already in bed anyway. Never asked how he takes the pills, if he sniffs or chews them...don't know if htat makes a difference?
 
It is entirely possible to overdose from using heroin through any ROA, though smoking (we're disregarding oral use, because you're basically than just taking morphine) is known to have the least risk of overdose.
 
ivfe never ODed to the point of needing medical attention but I once shot too much and woke up an hour later. there was no unpleasantness to speak of, like someone else said, it just felt like one big nod. I never OD any more because because I realized I dont enjoy high doses of heroin as much as lower doses.
