This ISNT a drug testing question. Its a How is Heroin metabilized in your body question?

Iv gotten information from several places that I wouldnt say conflict, but are not uniform in their answers. So, dose the time that heroin stays in your body/urine varies depending if you smoke it or shoot it? Wiki says somked heroin could be detecatable for just 72hrs, but I V use could last up to 7 days. Being detectable in urin for 3-7 days. Id think it would be the other way around.

Now Erowid says Heroin can be detectable for only 1-4 days, but than gos on to say that morphine can be detected up to atleast 84hrs. But isnt Heroin just converted into morphine in the body? so Heroin would be detecable atleast 84hrs. also? right?

All of those sources are retarded. I've never tested dirty after 72 hours, no matter how much I was using and whether I was smoking/shooting. For lesser use, say once time use, you're looking at even less, say around 48. There was a time when I was getting drug tested every Monday and Thursday - I would do as much dope as I wanted Monday (night), Thursday (night), and Friday (all day); then as much as I wanted mid-afternoon on Tuesday/Saturday - and I never once pissed dirty in something like 36 tests. And for the record, I do not have a fast metabolism by any means.

The best thing you can do is go to a drug store and buy (or steal) several piss tests. Then note the last time you do a shot, and starting around 48 hours later or so, test yourself something like every 6 hours until you get a clean result. Then you will know what its like for you.

How is this not a question about drug testing when the entire question revolves around how fast it gets out of your system.....?

Anyway though, drug tests are looking for 6-monoacetylmorphine, a metabolite that is unique to heroin (whereas many opiates metabolize into morphine).

IIRC 6-monoacetylmorphine is detectable in your system for no longer than 24 hours. Diacetylmorphine (heroin) is only in your system for a matter of minutes before it gets metabolized (or whatever the correct term is) into 6-mam and 3-mam.

^Its a question about how ROA effects Heroin metabilazation. And drug tests arnt looking for 6-mam or whatever, they are looking for opiates in general codine/morphine/etc.

Detecting heroin use isn't that straight forward, as they're looking for its specific metabolites that denote heroin use(that or using those specific mam metabolites just by themselves; highly unlikely.)

It'd be interesting to know if one could specifically test for heroin related metabolites with a hair follicle test. Well, I guess you can, but I wonder if the common hair follicle tests actually do it.

Every drug store has them - CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens... wherever.
At my local Rite Aid not only do they carry them, but they aren't locked in a case as they normally are. But stealing is wrong, of course.

If by "any" you mean codeine, morphine, and heroin - then yes.
Those are the ones that will be caught by a standard "opiate" drug test.
(Although some people say large amounts of oxycodone/other opiates can set it off; and I will say that I have never once experienced/seen buprenorphine setting it off, but both of these have separate tests which can be utilized if necessary.)

But for methadone, for example, or buprenorphine, or anything with a long half-life that also can be tested for, the 3 day rule does not hold true. Neither of those are on the standard "opiate" test; they are both separate tests.

My question is. Herion metabalizes into codine and then into morphine.. you say herion stays in urine for about 3 days but then after the 3 days(rough estimate) is there codineing in your system and then morphine after that to make it a total of like 10 days of opiates in your system or
will 3 days(roughly) get every opiate out of your system for a urine screen if your only using herion..? that is my question because on eriowid it says herion metabalises into codeing then into morphine..

Its not 3 days for heroin then 3 days for morphine, or whatever scenario you're saying.

Whether you're talking about heroin, morphine, or codeine, its all the same. About 2-3 days for any of those to be completely gone and undetectable by a drug test.

heroin --> morphine
codeine --> morphine
(heroin --> codeine does not happen)

An "opiate" test simply tests for morphine, because thats what heroin and codeine ultimately turn into over time.

Yeah im talking about Heroin. and thanks so much for answering my questions. So me using Heroin will be out of my urine in around 3-4 days depending on cercumstance ofcourse.


I'm addicted and prescribed to xanax.. I ran out and I have done 6 1mg clonzapan within the past 2 days.

If you're so worried and you don't want to get caught, the smartest thing to do would be to not take the drug in question. (for future reference)

I'm on opium tincture which has everything PPT has, but is mainly morphine and codeine, and i'm wondering which metabolites are different than those from heroin and their half-life.

however it is 6-monoacetylmoprhine that is a commonly used marker for heroin use , although i might imagine it would be present too if one has used poppy pods or street morphine.
