Heroin isn't special IMO

Hi...

I tried "chasing the dragon" with Heroin yesterday, and this is my brief experience with it. At fist the high was just like an Oxy high; sedative, mildly euphoric, peaceful, and 'protective'; but nonetheless underwhelming. As the high went on, I felt sleepy, then I became horribly depressed for about an hour, only to start throwing up afterwards. Then I felt chilled out for the rest of the night, and that was all she wrote. Also, since using it I don't really have a strong desire to use it again; not like I have an addictive personality anyway.

I know every other ROA falls short of IV, but when looking at the dosage and the fact that the '2nd best' ROA is smoked, I feel like I've been gypped on the experience.

I might try it again in a bit out of curiosity. I would like to hear if this is the norm, or why this may have been. Maybe my neurotransmitters were out of whack to start with, which is why this went south when I tried it.

Yeah I'm with you I have done almost every opiate and heroin was not the greatest... I would take fentanyl or even codeine/promethazine syrup over it anyday

Opioid receptors can vary from person to person. But it comes down to the purity. Any ROA short of IM/IV should give you sedation and turn you into what my girlfriend calls 'Noddy McNodNod'.
I commented because the title is 'Heroin isn't special IMO'. The difference between us is that I evolved into IVing. And I can say, regardless of purity, though the more pure, the better, that heroin was better than any orgasm I've had. It turned into the love of my life. And I'll save you the horror stories -- you know them. But even after being clean for some time, if I told you I didn't consistently think about it, I'd be lying.

I think people do heroin because it's by far the cheapest. Personally when I'm using opiates I try and use anything but heroin unless it's really all I can afford/source. I just hate doing drugs where I have no idea what dose I'm taking due to it being cut. And with heroin they're introducing cuts that you wouldn't want to take unknowingly (fentanyl and it's analogues.) With coke if it's cut heavy it will generally just suck the high will suck and you go on with your day. With heroin the cut could kill you, or if you've been getting low purity dope and get some fire it could kill you.

Heroin is not the king of opiates or anything, they just make a ton of it in Afghanistan or wherever and the supply vs demand of smuggled heroin makes it much cheaper than pills. Everyone who fucks with opiates wants pills generally unless they've progressed to junkie or otherwise gotten a sky high tolerance and the pills cost too much. It's not even really frowned upon in terms of stigma amongst drug users to pop/sniff pills. Whereas if you mention dope they start thinking you shoot up with used needles and you might steal the tv if they turn their back. (For me the cost of an oxycodone high was at best $50 but usually more like $100 to get high for 4 hours. A dope high would be as cheap as $10. I was getting dirt cheap morphine pills but if I didn't have that and only had access to hydrocodone and oxycodone at standard prices I would say fuck it and do dope.)

Either your just not meant to do heroin, as some people hate it that I know and have tried it. Some people like myself love it, a little too much and become extremely addicted to it. I was hooked the first time I tried as you just described "chasing the dragon" with black tar heroin of very good quality. I became obsessed with this ROA, the whole experience was amazing to me at first, I mean everything about became this super addicting ritual of ripping off a nice size piece of foil, throwing a chunk of tar on there, and chasing the smoke/vapor with a lighter underneath the foil where the dot of H was and a straw to inhale it. I loved the whole process: watching it run down the foil leaving a trail behind, the taste, the smell, the immediate rush and euphoric high. I did this for quite awhile alongside smoking the old OC80 oxys (not OPs) which were very similar to smoking H, or snorting oxy and then smoking some oxy or some H or doing all 3. I was hooked. There is a technique to smoking H and some people don't do it right... I had it perfected which is why it was so addicting to me, but I knew people and when I would watch them chase the smoke with the straw, they missed like more than half of it and probably only got about 10-20% of the vapor/smoke being put off and barely would catch a nod. I inhaled that shit like a vaccum and would be nodding out in a euphoric, warm, fuzzy daze for hours. Its a lot to do with the technique and how efficiently/well you inhale the vapor. But yeah if you do it right and get as faded as I used to by doing this, be careful because it made me super addicted to this for quite a while and it was also really expensive to maintain after my tolerance built up and I kept needing more and more until I eventually started IVing it and then never looked back. Be very careful if you end up liking it after perfecting the method, which by the way can take a little time to do believe it or not. Thankfully, I haven't done H or any opiate beside bupe in quite a while and hope to stay like that, because I was doing bad, knocking on wood.

I agree, I prefer oxycodone or smoked opium. I thought it would be this incredible, out-of-this-world euphoric high thanks to all the hype and stigma surrounding it, and I also find it to be a more sedating oxycodone. To be fair though, I think that opioids as a drug class are incredibly overrated, though I completely understand why they're so addictive, I was addicted for several months. But it's "king of the opioids" image makes sense when you limit your choices to opioids that are commonly available on the streets. It's also pretty great to nod off on, but I'm more of an upper person and don't like nodding all that much. I like the opiate euphoria, but I find them so boring overall, especially the more sedating ones. You're definitely not alone here. I've only experienced IV opiates a few times at the hospital, morphine each time. It was pleasant but massively underwhelming each time.

any self respecting opiate user will tell you heroin aint special

its available and dirt cheap is all

Just finished off the rest of it. 250mg gone in two days? Man I suck at vaping.

Regardless, the high I have now is pretty good, but sure enough that won't last too long before I start to get sick and depressed.

I have brown (#3?) heroin, which no doubt is why it's kinda shit. Maybe when I get the chance to try quality IV #4 heroin I will, but until then I can freely resign that heroin just isn't for me as a recreational drug. Stims, benzos, and booze all the way.

People who do heroin for the first time often find it underwhelming because it has a huge, fearsome reputation (OHHH HEROIN SCARY!) so they build it up in their minds as some kind of breathtaking high, and for many it doesn't live up to this reputation, especially when the dope isn't of a decent quality and the user is engaged in a substandard ROA like smoking. They built it up in their mind to such a degree that no high could possibly stack up.

That's how it was when I first tried the drug, also via the smoking ROA.

Good quality heroin IV'd is pretty damn good, though. The first time I was shot up with decent-quality dope, I was so high that I could barely form coherent sentences & couldn't walk in a straight line. I'd puke until I was letting forth nothing but water and started dry heaving...but only when I was fully conscious and not in Nodland. Now that's being high. Ah, those were the daze...

This. It's interesting that even though it's just another opiate, the constant availability, low cost, and high potency for your dollar is what ruins people so quickly when they're strung out on heroin. It almost reminds me of meth in that regard, it's simply too euphoric per dollar to be worth dabbling with if you don't want to get strung out.

I have no experience with either, though, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope, you're pretty much right...meth is just the opposite side of the coin, as I've said before on this forum.

You say this "best orgasm" thing about iving or you felt that with smoking?

I've got to agree it's not my favourite opiate, it's just the strongest, most readily available and cheapest one around.
Not even close, Fentanyl and it's analogues are much stronger, and much cheaper, and actually probably more available via the internet, especailly for bulk buyers. The cost and availability part is why it's turning up so much in street heroin and counterfeit pills, the much stronger part being the reason it's so easy to O.D. on.

I also thought heroin was pretty much a waste of time the first time I tried it (snorting number 4, hcl). I tried it again nearly a year later (this time smoking freebase) and was still pretty underwhelmed. At this point, I was convinced it was overrated and settled into a pattern of using every month/couple of months, but in increasingly long sessions. Somewhere along the line, my "sessions" turned into 2 weeks + of daily use at a time and I realised for something I used to think was nothing special, I obsessed over it a lot.
