Down the rabbit hole
I have a HUGE oxy tolerance. I recently switched to heroin because i couldnt affor $200/ day for oxys and I have been feeling like absolute shit for about 2 days after dosing....this is in no way full blown withdrawal because I use about 1-2 times a week.

My anxiety has been worse, racing thoughts.... no energy..... just feelings like I should be in the hospital or something.... I have no history of mental illness besides GAD and its pretty much under control besides the few days after using heroin.....

whats going on? I tried a couple different batches of h and it all has the same effect....... i know its impossible to tell whats in heroin, maybe its something used to cut around here? Just trying to figure this out..... obviously not doing heroin would be the answer, but im a junkie and need my opiate vice......

panic reactions although uncommon on the classic opiates can happen and the no energy, racing thoughts etc sound like GAD (i suffer with it myself) but good quality H as far as I know shouldnt really give you a hangover. Especially not for a couple of days, and coupled with the fact that you dont have that problem with oxycodone which is often the culprit with opiate anxiety. Id say it could well be something its cut with but its not my area of expertise so I wouldnt like to hazard a guess at what it could be. Did you get the different 'batches' off different hookups? Or was it different stuff off the same guy? And also how do you administer it?

I snort it..... i live in the North East, Philly area, are always score at different sets with different people and different stamps..... NEVER has this reaction with oxys.... but h has put my anxiety in another gear for a few days after use.

Hmm... Most likely due to H then. Coming from so many different sources it never gunna have the same cuts. Do benzos help with the after effects? You might have swich to hydromorphone if possible as thats got the potencey u need and has betterprofile for anti anxiety.

I just really cannot afford the pharmacueticals. It's literally <snip> where I am and I need at least $150 to catch a decent buzz.... and I have no connects for hydromorphone..... only thing I can get are the 30mg "blues"..... I am actually withdrawaling from benzos at the moment on a very slow Ashton method taper.... was on .5 mg klonopin 2xs a day for one month, stopped abruptly, experienced psychosis, (not knowing the dangers), reinstated, slowly tapered over a 2 month period, was off a few weeks and my anxiety was NEVER as bad as it was, and so i reinstated to 5mg valium 2xs a day, and am going to taper off of that VERY slowly.... benzos really fucked me up and i wasnt even abusing them....or on them that long, and i heard the withdrawal can last years even... and so i was using painkillers to take away some of the edge and just couldnt afford it anymore, and now im finding heroin to just blow up my symptoms the days after use..... im like on the verge of suicide.... klonopin destroyed my life....even after reinstatement, i found LITTLE relief.....

This doesn't sound like a classic heroin hangover, but more like withdrawals. For me the heroin hangover is a feeling of lethargy, sometimes a headache, and I can just sleep all day. No anxiety or racing thoughts.

You can experience withdrawals from using just 1-2x a week if your doses are that high. Also you said you couldn't afford $200/day in pills, so were you using more frequently before?

One possibility is that although your still doing an opiate, and my opinion a better one, maybe your body is still addicted to the OxyContin. Your still getting high off opiates but your body is still craving oxy. It will probably go away after a while either way. When first started doing H, I was always worn down and useless for the next day or 2.. You will get used to it.

That's what im thinking....im going through a small withdrawal..... i really just gotta quit this shit, and then sucdcessfully taper my benzos before using opiates again, its just so hard because i cannot smoke pot, makes me anxiois, and i cant drink because of my healing gaba, so im going to have no vices

Do you have a benzo addiction as well?

Nvm.. Guess I should have read more! I get prescribed Xanax and am addicted In The way of I need them for anxiety, but as for getting high on them.. There useless to me, they just make me a zombie!

same with me..... im physically addicted not mentally..... never abused them.... had a rough withdrawal and it made my anxiety way worse in the long run so i reinstateed and am tapering slower

Sorry to break it to you, but you ARE mentally addicted. You're doing 200$ a DAY in pills. THAT is an addict. If you weren't an addict, you'd be doing it 2x a week at MOST. Sorry bud, not what you want to hear, but it's true. YOU ARE AN ADDICT

^ While I agree that they are addicted to opiates, I think that they were talking about the benzos. I think it's a lot more common for people to be physically addicted to benzos but not mentally. I have to take them daily as prescribed and I take less than prescribed actually, and I really don't care for them compared to opiates.

I dont think your 10mg of diazepam a day is a real issue here. I think your opiates use is dangerous though. Changing over from one strong opiate to another is a OD minefield and I also worry that you will find heroin more troublesome from an addiction and tolerance perspective. It might be better from a HR view to seek medical help ie. Buprenorphine or methadone administered under medical guidence to bring this habit under control. Im not trying to be judgemental at all because alot of people on this site, myself included, have drug misuse and addiction issues. I just think your tackling this in a manner that will put you in much worse position in the future. If you tackle tolerance by going more potent then you will get stuck in a bad spiral that will most likely end in an OD. Is there no way you can speak to a doctor about this? :-)

Non addicted heroin user.... bad experiences..... please help.....

I just switched over from painkillers to heroin for pricing reasons. I have never had any of these side effects from oxycodone, but let me try to explain. When i do heroin (snort) the next couple days I feel so blahhhhh like I just came down from a coke binge and have no happy chemicals in my head. With the oxy, I would get a nice afterglow for the next day.

I have been a user, few times a month for about a year of pills, up until the past few weeks because I am tapering off of a benzo (prescribed and non abused) and so the anti anxiety side effects these pills gave me were amazing in dealing, but just costly, and I know I'm just digging myself deeper, I'm not an everydayer yet, but I feel I may soon be because I have been feeling so shitty the day or two after using heroin. Maybe it's a mild withdrawal? It's not really physical, just mental; a bit of anxiety, and just the feeling of "no happy chemicals" in my head like a coke binge.....

I get my h from multiple sources, different stamps..... live in the Philly area if that makes a difference.

Anyone get the complete, dysphoric effect that I do the day after using heroin? Or is this some sort of dependency i may have, and have to ride out a opiate withdrawal on top of the benzo withdrawal.

I'm on 10 mg of valium and stable atm.... so not thinking this has to do with the benzos.....

any input is appreciated. thank you.

I'm merging this with your other thread since its covering the same question.

Thanks man..... just not getting this at alll......

Heroin is much stronger.. a lot of people go through a period where there are a lot of negative side effects after doing H but your body gets used to it and they start to go away.. of course at that point your risk for dependence is greatly increased. It's a bit of a double edged sword...
