Heroin -- first time use -- MIGRAINES???

Hey, I just have some questions about what happened to me when I used heroin.

I used heroin for the first time a few weeks ago. I sniffed 3 bags the first night, went to bed and woke up with the worst migraine I'd ever had in my life. It lasted for 2 days. The heroin I got was, from what I know, regular east coast, stamp bag, tan powder with a cakey consistency... So what caused the migraine? Could it have just been a coincidence? Usually, I take Tylenol with Codeine and that completely takes away my migraines so why would a stronger analgesic such as heroin be worse for a migraine? Could it have been a paradoxical reaction? (Pain killers causing pain, anti-anxiety meds causing anxiety, etc) Could it have been something in the cut? I was 10 days clean off any opiate (oxycodone being my DOC) so I didn't have any sort of tolerance. Plus I'm on a daily benzo for anxiety.

I'd really like to know if this was a bad batch, my body's reaction or just some weird fluke... I know you can't really give any definitive answers as to why this happened to me without knowing more than what I can tell you but any insights or opinions would be appreciated... thanks.
 
Could be any number of things from a histamine reaction to the heroin, any number of cut(s) in the heroin, a reaction to those cuts, anxiety, a paradoxical reaction indeed.

It's really hard (read: impossible) to tell what happened, but I would avoid doing heroin (certainly avoid that batch) until you are able to find out more.

This has happened to me and even so Heroin being my DOC. I sometimes would get migranes later on after doing it. I was going to say the same thing as Neighborhood treat with the cuts and other reactions you might have had to it. I sometimes would later do more heroin and the headache would go away. But i did find that it did usually depend on the batch that i got.
 
I usually hear this more from IV morphine experiences, but it can happen with any opiate, really. Histamine release is the culprit.
