Heroin dosage after 5 month break

Hello everyone,

For the last 4-5 months, I have been taking 24 mg of suboxone. Before that I was injecting heroin at about 6 bags (2 bags at a time) for maybe 6 months. So anyway, I just got a dime bag (it's powder heroin from Camden NJ) from my friend and wanted to inject it. I'm going to wait about three days without taking the suboxone before I do it. I know this is stupid doing H after such a long break but I'm confident I can take this one bag and be content. I just wanted to ask what you guys thought would be the safest dosage for a good rush, can I handle the whole bag?

I just want to let you know that 24mg of suboxone is ALOT. Many people get caught up in the grips of suboxone because they dont understand really how potent it is and how awful the withdrawls can be. You will be suprised how fast you can taper down and how low of a dose you can maintain on.

You know your tolerance and the quality of heroin better than anyone over the internet so in the end its really your choice of how much you think you can handle and how much you do.
 
We really can't tell you. We don't know the purity of the bag, and we don't know precisely what your tolerance will be after 3 days off suboxone. However, stopping 24mgs abruptly is likely to be pretty unpleasant..

Are you really sure you will be satisfied after just one bag? Remember when you first got into heroin. Does using it just the once usually work? It's a slippery slope, and you've been doing so well..

Am not here to preach though, just think about it please :)

If you do have some, start really small, assess it's strength and your tolerance. It's a common way for people to die, shooting up too much dope after a break and misjudging things. The Suboxone is a high dose and this will affect your tolerance, so it's not the same as a break with no opioids at all, but this just makes it even more difficult for you to predict how you will respond. I really, really wouldn't advise just shooting the whole bag in one go.
 
Thanks for the replies guys and I know the 24 mg is way too much. I tried to tell my doctor that but he wouldn't listen. I really hope the withdrawals wont be hell.

Also, thanks for the advice Effie. I really do care about my sobriety and I know how dangerous 'just one bag' can be but a part of me just misses that awesome rush. It's so tempting.

And just another quick question, if I were to wait say only 24 hours, would I feel anything at all.

You're not gonna feel it, not on 24mg. Even after waiting a day or two. When I was on 8 /day, I would go two days with no suboxone and could do 5 bags and nothing. I even tried a whole bundle once, I got some pins and needles, but that was it. No rush, no high, just a waste of $$. Trade the bag for some xanex, you'll actually feel that.

Seriously tho, to go from 6bags/day to 24mg/day of sub is ridiculously high. I went from 2 bundles/day to 8mg/day of sub fairly easily. And tapered to 1/4 mg a day IV of sub in about a month or two.
Edit: Saw you noticed 24 was too high. Just take less, it doesnt matter what the doc prescribes. You don't even have the fill the whole script if needed. Ofcourse, there's always people looking for subs, so they're usually worth having... even if you dont take em.
 
I really think your addiction is telling you "yeah i'll be content off one bag", if you do enjoy it, your goiing to want to get more the next day or later that night, it's always like that. If you really don't mind getting back into the vicious cycle than go for it, best of luck.... But as for your question, as stated, there's no way we can know what would be safe for you, because all dope is different.
 
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate everyone's input and concern, and it turns out I ended up traded the bag for xanax. I'm still not a benzo fan, but at least its better than overdosing or getting hooked on dope again. I'm going to take Lazylazyjoe's advice and try lowering my sub dose. Hopefully it works out well.
