If anything, taking opiates should produce more euphoria dose for dose if you're ill, as in just about every study I've seen, the use of opiates in the absence of pain is more likely to produce dysphoria (I know that doesn't quite square with the fact that people who use opiates for pain relief are less likely to become dependant).
Methinks the person isn't being quite truthful (a dealer not telling the truth, shock horror!). Sounds like typical "this gear is really excellent" dealer hyperbole; when was the last time you heard one say, well it's not up to much, but it was cheap and there was nothing else going? Not too often.
Best off just trying to get in contact with the reliable people you know

for real. when im sick i get alot higher. it doesnt matter what drug or drugs. the woozey feelin that the flu gives you multiplies whatever drug your taking.Udman said:

I take it you're not a really big fan of amphetamines or psychedelics? Taking them (esp. psychedelics) when you have a cold or flu is really unpleasant. Small doses of amphetamine can make you feel a bit better (also decongest sinuses if they're giving you problems), but large doses, at least for me, turn into a fight to not start puking, and the come down is a nightmare

With an illness like the flu, you might worry about what effects these drugs are having on the strength of your immune system. That is if you want to get over your flu quickly and not get a secondary infection like bronchitis or pneumonia. Most flu related deaths and complications are related to secondary infections not the flu itself. While opiates themselves probably won't weaken your defenses too much if you just rest/nod, taking a strong cough supressant while you have a productive cough will result in more crap running down into your lungs, increasing the chances of bronchitis or pneumonia. Be careful.
gloggawogga makes a good point about the immune system. I didnt think about that when I was doing OC while having the flu. I was only thinking about how it took me away from feeling shitty. Also, I just got my wisdom teeth removed last friday (march 18) and damn does it hurt! Got all four extracted and when i do OC it takes that pain right away......but of course thats what it was intended for.....pain relief. Damn dentist gave me 20 percocets......This shit hurts bad, cant believe the bastards dont help you out more....I really do need it, im not just bitching cause I want drugs. My mouth didnt even bruise until the script was gone. Anyway....lol, good point on the immune system glog, ill take that into mind the next time, and at least make sure to take my vitamin C along side the OC.
