heroin and suboxone questions

This is my first post and I wasn't sure where to put it so it's in the homeless thread. That being said here goes

Swim was a long time heroin user who stopped for a long time but recently relapsed. After swims relapse he went in to wds so started taking suboxone pills. 1 pill in the morning sublingual. Since swims last h binge it has been about a week on subs and swim was wondering how long he should stop the subs before doing heroin again. Swim plans on using heroin Friday morning after seeing the parole office. When should swim stop taking suboxone?

Any answers are much appreciated and please move this thread to wherever it's appropriate

Well what dose are you on? That plays a huge role in how long you have to wait if its a 8mg pill then give yourself 48 hours before doing heroin if its a 2mg pill then I would say 24-36 hours but the best way to go about knowing when to take heroin is just to wait until your dope sick and you don't feel the Suboxone helping your withdrawals anymore. When you get sick it means more receptors have opened up and are free from buprenorphine ready to let another opiate attach.
Remember everyone is different some people metabolise substances slowly and some have really fast metabolisms so listen to your body once you feel sick then your fine to dose heroin without wasting it all. You may still feel some blocking for a few days due to the long half life of Suboxone but its largly dose dependant so it depends how much Suboxone you have taken.

A week on 8mg a day? I'd give yourself 24-48 hours before dosing any heroin and even then you might feel screwed as far as desired effects go.

On a positive note, I know many people, myself included (although I don't usually exceed 4mg/day of bupe), who can still get some good effects after 24 hours if your dope is any good.

Thank you for the info on this. I ended up doing it about 18 hours later and with the first shot felt absolutely nothing at all buy 20 minutes later hit again and I got a half decent rush. Not the full effect but it was ok. Thanks again

Remember, your tolerance may have dropped, so don't go in on your normal dose of H and remember, the blocking effects from subs can trick you into wanting to redose, so be careful.

I think everyone else answered about the time frame but my body hates subs..makes me have killer migraines and used to, I would feel some opiate effects 24 hrs after last dose.
