Heroin and lungs

So when iv'ing heroin i read it still can affect your lungs or cause pneumonia and infections inside the lung. Does plugging still cause that or does it by pass the lungs.

its unrelated regarding how you use it - pneumonia is caused due to the respiratory depression caused by heroin, and because it weakens a persons immune system.

Well i get the weakened immune system but doesn't respiratory depression just mean your breathing is slower and sometimes can get too slow. I didn't know that had to do anything with causing a bacterial infection or other kind of infection that tar usually causes me.

yeah, due to the respiratory depression pnemonia can occur as the lungs are working at a lower capacity but it is rare, coupled with the weakened immune response from heroin use.
