Heroin and Breastmilk

I gave birth 7 weeks ago (100% healthy pregnancy, delivery, and baby). I decided to finally have some fun again after 10+ months of complete sobriety and used heroin. Of course, they switched from breastfeeding to formula. However, this one-time night of fun turned into a 2+ week heroin-binge. I want to quit using and begin breastfeeding again, as there is no better nutrition for a baby than breast milk itself. I know they say 3 days is all it takes for heroin to be out of your system, but I want to be completely sure that there is absolutely no trace of it left in their body before breastfeeding again, yet I'm anxious to start providing their baby with proper nutrients again, so they don't want to wait any longer than they have to. Is there any way to test breast milk for drugs? I'm sure that just buying a urine test and putting breast milk into it would only read "inconclusive results". If there is no way, exactly how long would one recommend waiting to safelybreastfeed again?

After stopping breast feeding for two weeks do you have an adequate supply? Have u been pumping and dumping?

I would after testing clean on an over the counter urine test. To be honest though after two weeks you might not have a good supply anymore. Plus after two weeks the baby may not want to latch and do the work! Breast feeding is much harder than bottle feeding and a lot of babies once used to the bittle wont go back bc its frustrating for them. Anyhow, best of luck and stay away from H! When u get the urge just look at your babys perfect face and take a big whiff of its head! The smell of a new baby is intoxicating! Lol
