I have been prescribed Remeron and Xanax for anxiety and depression. Also on Zoloft if the Remeron doesn't work. How does heroin react with these drugs? Obviously, I'm not popping Xanax everyday. Remeron is an everyday drug though. I have been wanting to try heroin again to treat this. Not joking when I say that this is the only thing that has ever worked. Can I continue my dose and use heroin or will that make things worse? The remeron dose is 15mg and zoloft 50mg.

heroin acts on GABA receptors which is a totally different system so theres no interaction and you'll get very high on the heroin
but its not good for your anxiety and depression

Be very careful mixing Xanax (a benzo) with heroin or other opiates, as it is very dangerous.

If you absolutely must take a bit of Xanax with your heroin, take your normal heroin dose with no more than 0.25mg Xanax (equivalent to 5mg valium), better to underdose than to overdose. ;)

Also, that dose of Remeron will make you super sleepy, so don't take any Xanax or heroin with it until you are used to its effects; I would start off with 7.5mg remeron instead of 15mg, then slowly titrate your way up to the full 15mg. It's a great antidepressant, anxiolytic, and sleep aid, so don't knock it just because it's an "AD."

I'm already used to the Remeron dose. I am on the bigger side so don't get sleepy on it. Drowsy, but not sleepy. I would never mix Xanax with opiates as I know that one wrong dose and that's the end of that. More interested in the reactions between Remeron and Heroin.

As far as not helping anxiety and such, I know that the meds I'm on are only helping slightly. I know that only I can work through these problems, but I need help in the meantime. I have heard other suggestions like dosing LSD or shrooms every once in awhile, but heroin is the only thing I have ever used that has helped in the short term, though it hurt in the long term.

Mixing benzos and opiates can be very dangerous. If you are prescribed CNS depressants then using another CNS depressant in the form of opiates can be fatal due to increased respiratory depression.

Do a search here on BL and you'll get a bunch of results for forums talking about the dangers of mixing benzos and opiates.

the fuck it does. no opioid has any interaction with GABA receptors. gabaergics are generally considered to potentiate opioids (as are most CNS depressants) but pharmacologically they are absolutely and markedly different.

I take Zoloft 100mg and have done for 3 years. I've been using opiates (not heroin, but a high dose of Oxycodone daily) for 6 month of that and not noticed any negative effects.
If you're taking anti-anxiety meds (benzos) they will double the effects of the heroin AND the effects of the anti-anxiety meds will be double so you will need to take half your usual dose of both. BE CAREFUL. Mixing opiates and anti-anxiety drugs has an extremely high death-by-overdose rate.
Take your zoloft as usual.
