Happy New Years everyone! I snort heroin on a daily basis and was wondering, how long after my last dose would I have to wait to safely consume alcohol tonight? I weigh 130 pounds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There's really no concrete answer to your question. Just use less heroin and drink less then you normally would. Space the time between dosing as far as part as you can.

^ Unfortunately that's the case because of how everyone responds to drugs differently, metabolism, etc.

Trust me, I completely understand wanting to get fucked up for a holiday like NYE. I ended up spending time in a coma, having a heart attack, and overdosing all because of wanting to have a good time on one holiday. Just be careful and always take less because you can always take more, but never take less.

okay, thanks so much. glad someone gets it!! I had to have my dose today ya know, then wanted to host a party with 10 people or so. I'm probably gonna call it off cause I'm too scared to drink, and I don't know how long to wait. so I'll sit at home alone on New Years getting fucked up on my h (:
thanks a ton for your responses man.

^It's not so bad for heroin addicts if you are just having a few drinks with a couple people or relaxing by yourself and having a few. This is assuming you are not getting super high. But when it comes to partying I tend to lose control of the drinking and thats when it can become dangerous in conjunction with using heroin. p;us you will be liable to use more heroin, compounding the dangers. Its tough to just stop when you are at a party, I know it is for me at least. But in other non-party situations I can have a few, stop and it really isn't a big deal combined with the ethanol.

I am basically staying in too and this is actually my last day using H, then tomorrow I get on Suboxone. I could go out and party, thing is I will drink heavily whether I like it or not. I've always had that problem. The hangover that will result is another issue considering I am stopping the H tomorrow and don't need to feel more like shit. But I am gonna have a few drinks, I had one highball, on my second and I will likely have 1 more. So all together like 6 shots worth spaced over 5 hours. If I was to go out and party I would be drinkng at a rate of about 1 unit of alcohol every 20-30 minutes. Plus I'd be having people push shots on me and drink much later.

Obviously, you want to avoid drinking on opiates at all if you can... combining any CNS depressants can be very dangerous. That being said, a little drinking on a moderate dose of opiates isn't the end of the world. You just need to make sure you don't over do it.

I would drink sometimes while on H at times I was at parties, etc, with non-users and everyone is drinking. So I'd have a little bit just to be social.

I honestly don't like mixing the two usually though. The booze really kills the opiate high.

I can say in my experience, after 3 day no sleep h binge, when its obvious im coming down, i might have a few beers, i can prob get through max 5 beers before i feel sick and know its enough. I have found that your own experience and perception in these matters is your best guide. Obviously you want to initially know what is safe as a starting point but after that everybody is different. For me, when using H i dont want to take anything else but when still quite high and coming down noticably and feeling shitty, a few beers do help, max three/five.

I will say the biggest scariest mistake i have ever made in my life is taking Seroquel or any anti psychotic after coming down from H, even hours after. I made this mistake accidently twice and is the closest i have ever felt to death. Incredibly fast heartbeat and anxiety that feels like its about to explode out of your chest. Never ever mix these two ever. Unlike anxiety like with stims where you often might feel like you are near death, this was an absolute assurance i was near death, no anxiety, just 100% clear headed realisation that i almost died. Worst thing ever.

Yes it is really a waste of money to get "drunk" while using opiates. I like a few pops, but if I drink enough to produce a hangover it is bad for multiple reasons. For one it can overpower the heroin high. Plus it can cause you to use more because of reduced inhibitions, which is a waste of money and can be dangerous. Then the fact that you are hungover means you will use more the next day to try and feel better.

All you'd have to do is pay a lot of attention and pace yourself more than you normally would. You shouldn't drink more than one or two drinks on top of heroin, and that's assuming you've waited a few hours to see how the h is affecting you.
