Heroin Heroin advice pls

I tried Heroin for the first time 3 months ago, I was on it for 2 months straight but only snorting it... On what I decided was the last night I would engage in this activity I shot it up in a needle, administered by some guy I didn't really know that well. Anyways since then which was over a month ago I have not felt right physically, pain in joints and arms at times, weakness in general, dry violent cough starting at around 4 am every morning, cold sweats, running nose and un-easy feeling in my stomach.. I went through the withdrawal symptoms expecting them but did not expect to feel this shit for so long... It all started about a week after I took that needle I threw up a few nights in a row and the above feelings followed... since the last time I used I had a car crash which was the day before I started feeling ill... and since then I have exasperated my eating disorder and allergies which could also give me these symptoms... Do you think this is abnormal?? Really worried now so any help would be welcome :S

P.S. The H I had was pure uncut yellow afghani powder.

Heroin withdrawal after 2 months of use should NOT last for a month. It sounds like you're sick to me. I would definitely see a doctor immediately. Who knows what it is or what caused it. It could be completely unrelated to the heroin, or it could be that your immune system was down (which using opiates does) and you caught something, or it could be that a virus or bacteria entered your blood when you IVed, or it could be stress from the car accident, it could be anything. Please see a doctor and get blood tests while you are at it. Good luck

I HIGHLY doubt that. I don't know where you live but I have never seen or heard of pure uncut heroin outside of a medical setting (in the countries that still use it medically, and it's not yellow). Lots of dealers/users say their dope is pure/uncut when it's not.

You didn't mention this but: did you use a clean needle?

I'd see a doctor, and have some blood work done as well just to check if everything is alright. You might have something totally unrelated to your drug use. Go see the doctor and get yourself checked out.

dude, I dont want to freak you out....but...ARE YOU SURE the needle was clean? If you have no appetetite, feel nausea, dark colored urine...It may be some kinda hepattitis....which if you shared a needle, aint too hard to get!...NEVER do that again!!!

There are longtime junkies that look down on people new to the game and wanna share some of the misery with you....Not most people, but theyre definitely out there!!! Just be careful

Actually though, now that I reread what you're posting, the most disturbing thing is the vomiting....the other stuff could be just about anythings....Post acute withdrawal, who knows.....I'd definitely have blood work drawn....But realistically, if it was something like hepatitis or worse, it would take longer than a week for symptoms to appear...I've freaked out before and been fine....Just go to a doctor....don't let the paranoia send you into a tailspin....even if it is something bad, there's really effective treatment available....

I've been an addict for roughly a decade, and I've known many, many people, some my very close friends, who have contracted hep C or AIDS from sharing needles. Personally, I will never and haven't ever used somebody else's rig, bleached or no. I'd rather go sick than use another person's rig, it's simply not acceptable to do so if you value your life at all.

That said, everybody I have been friends with that has gotten an incurable blood-borne pathogen has almost instantly become SO careful and fastidious when using with somebody else, such as myself, making sure we do not use the same cup of water to draw up water to cook shit up, getting a free 'needle safe disposal box' they would put all their used rigs in so I wouldn't even have to touch the rigs, to ensure I would never get pricked, etc.

Even the scummiest junkies I've known that are infected or may possibly be infected (read: too lazy to get tested) have never been careless with rigs in my presence, or the presence of my friends. So have you any evidence or personal anecdote to support the idea that some percentage, no matter how small, of infected junkies actively try to infect others?

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to call you out as a bullshitter or trying to be rude at all, I'm just curious because I personally have never met or heard of a junkie exhibiting that type of evil. So I ask only to square what I know and have heard of with the actual true situation in the sense that if you've experienced or witnessed such behavior I would want to know so I can add to my already extensive procedures and protective measures as far as junkies with diseases go.

If you used for 2 months straight and after your last dose which was IV, stopped cold turkey, what you are experiencing is simply opiate withdrawal. Generally it lasts 7-14 days, with symptoms of nausea, hot/cold flashes, diarrhea, lethargy, restless leg syndrome, and sleeplessness peaking around days 3-6 for most users. Generally after 14 days you are done with physical withdrawals, but mental and lingering physical withdrawal symptoms can linger for months. This is called PAWS (Post-Acute withdrawal symptoms). You should be feeling back to normal within the next month, so long as you don't relapse.

edit: and yea fuck, a needle from a stranger. Don't wanna scare you but, who knows where its been and if it had been used prior. Could be tons of shit you might be infected with, best bet is to get checked out by a doctor and have repeat check ups for the next 4-7 months because some diseases take a while to show up on tests.

Except the OP said they quit a month ago and are feeling physical symptoms like pain, weakness, dry violent cough, cold sweats, running nose and nausea. Those symptoms should have improved after a month. I really hope they see a doctor.

True, well if u read my whole post you'll see I added a tidbit telling him to see a doc. Ofc it is always possible that he has particularly long withdrawals or more specifically PAWS which could last up to a month + but like you said those symptoms seem more than paws. Regardless, considering you injected a random needle, you should see a doc anyways just cuz of the needle, but with ur other odd symptoms u shud see a doc ASAP .

Dionysus....Okay you want anecdotal evidence/stories about shady dope fiends passing off dirty rigs? I'm 36....from Providence RI, and I've been using IV heroin on and off since I was 20.....I'm a musician and I've lived in some major dope towns, my home towm being one of them....
First off, if youre using with friends you've known for awhile, of course, 99% of the time they most likely will go out of their way to make sure you don't contract any nasty disease that they may have, common decency!...But oftentimes, as drug fiends, we find ourselves in strange circumstances with shady people!
I have at least ten stories of people trying to pawn off dirty rigs on me!! Who knows why!...I mean, I'm a junkie....but for the life of me I can't figure out why this type of shit occurs but it does....I'll give you an example....

I went to my normal guys house to cop but he ran out...It was gonna be an hour and a half! Shit! It was a dope neighborhood anyway, so I took a little stroll....I ran into a dude I knew who was basically a "street junkie"...One thing led to another and he ended up copping for me....I kicked em down some dope for his troubles and gave him a ride home. I didn't have any rigs on me so I asked him if he had any clean rigs at home and he said, "Yeah, I gotchyou!".....I told him repeatedly, "I only want a clean rig, You're sure you're givin me a clean one?!"....He says, "Yeah don't worry! I gotchyou!!...He comes out with a needle....It has no bottom cap....I say again, "You sure this is clean?".....He says, "Yeah! Come on man!" I uncap the needle, push the plunger hard to the top....A fuckin little drop of blood comes out the top!!!
I've had people try to give me loaded rigs when I was broke and sick in Seattle...I refused!!! I mean it's tough to turn down free dope, but I refused!!!
So yeah, it happens a lot, particularly in the hood on the street level....I could post about this forever but I won't.....sure, these people are in the minority, but deifinitely out there!!! Always use your own shit!!!!
But, like I said....a good test to see if your shits been tampered with...push the plunger hard to the top! If any fluids been in there, you'll probably get a little drop off the top of the needle..water blood sumthin....Still, never trust any rig but the one you got from a needle exchange, drugstore, doctor, etc!!! Period!!!

LOL this is exactly the post I expected to come about a crazy story involving a random person offerering to IV ur h/a free h shot. Honestly why would you ever except an IV dose as ur last before quiting if it comes from a person u dont know well. It is one thing if it is a good friend who shoots up, and decides to shoot you this once before you quit, and you see them make the shot from a fresh needle and with heroin you trust, and the who shot is set up without sketchy spoons and sketchy filtering and whatever else lol. But fuck to just take a shot that came from a random dude just before you quit, pretty careless man. I hope you left out some details and you actually trust the dude who shot you. Otherwise, fucking never trust a shot unless you open/see the brand new rig opened from the sealed package yourself, and then have a trusted friend make the shot for you with heroin u trust and whatever other equipment they use is up to your standards. (proper anti-bacterial cooking/mixing devices, compared to sketchy spoon, and heroin you either brought yourself that you know is good, or a good friend whos heroin is always as proper as they say, and the filter is preferably a micron filter for as safe as a shot as possible. If you truly have proper h, a q-tip cotton filter could work but, even great h could have a single shitty cut that easily passes the cotton filter(like 100x shittier filtering then a micron would provide) that wouldn't have passed a .02micron filter at all.
