Here's How Much Money People Are Wasting On Illegal Drugs (INFOGRAPHIC)
march 21st 2014

Buying illegal drugs isn't just terrible for you, it's also no good for your wallet.

Online black markets like Silk Road -- which the FBI shut down in October -- bring buyers just a few clicks away from illegal substances, but a drug rehab center is proving that going online is even more bank-busting than buying on the street.

Clarity Way created the infographic below to show that "the expensiveness factor with the emotional, health, and career costs of substance abuse [creates] a recipe for a very unhappy life," a representative told The Huffington Post. The center used stats from news sources including The Washington Post and the International Business Times.

Indeed, the buying price of a gram of heroin on Silk Road was nearly two times greater than heroin's average street price, according to the graphic. But whether you're buying online or on the street, you're wasting a lot of money:

$367 for a gram of street dmt?
Hooooly fucking shit balls, people need to learn to do an extraction, a kilo of A. confusa rootbark and the materials will cost less and give you 6 grams if you do it right

If something can make my suicidally depressed self happy for any amount of time then it deserves my money. I wonder what the other considers worthy of buying probably stupid figurine. Too bad they can't seem to wrap there head around the idea that people value different things.

i dont know where they got their amount for street dmt but that is totally unrealistic. i would say the street dmt prices are btw $40 and $200 depending on how close you are to the producer and the mark up, but 367 is way too high

I don't do heroin so i am not up the prices or what is better. But if the stuff online were more potent it would stand to reason it cost more. Pot from say California may be more expensive online than average street weed in Texas or Florida but chances are it is better too. Some people don't mind paying more for quality. Once again not saying that online drugs are better, just there is some justification for their being more more expensive. Also I watch "cops" and i sure as hell wouldn't want to drive to bad side of town and buy on street, thats not safe. I would pay more to not get shot or busted.

what can be said negative about boomers.. always fun when taken in the proper setting and manor, always positive at least of rme, relieve symptoms of addiction for periods, can help stop a strong relapse push in it tracks for me, are not addictive as far as almost everyone is concerned though I have seen some addictive medicine websites spouting what I my less than humble opinion on this is nonsense, are cheap, leave you feeling happy and refreshed, help to promote important patterns that can be eroded by modern living, can help us see through the nonsense.

Wasting money on drugs? What like people waste money on pretty much everything else they want rather than need, like fancy clothes TVs etc ?

I consider drugs just another form of entertainment / recreation. Not a waste.

Recreational drugs do wonders for my happiness and self-confidence, and this has lead to improvements in every other facet of my life, including my income. Not a waste at all.

What are the emotional, health, and career costs of living with your mind trapped in a box?

Was gonna say, anybody who says its a waste has tried them. A little cash can buy you more happiness then a new $100k car for a day. Pretty good value for money.
