here we are
(and where is that?)
in this room, together
our words, half a century apart
(it is the now,
you are the past,
and i, your future)

here we are
(where time, comes together)
you gave and i, received
never questioning
as the years fell away,
and i accepted
(you were my birth
and i, your vassal
of hope)

here we are
(and time, never meets)
as our eyes lock
my words fail
behind my tears
i hear your rage
(and time, a river
that we cant forge
but)

here we are
(a room of pasts and futures)
unreconciled and time
and time is running out
like the tears i cannot hold

i am your failed vassal of holes)

and this... to my father

Very powerful Vurt. It portrays a torment and frustration - a struggle of differences that burns deep. Its quite dark in that it offers very little hope, cause I get the sense that these difference can't be resolved.

I can really relate to this in my own way through my own experiences with my father - his expectations of me, my failure to live up to them and the many years of hostility that resulted. I'm not sure if thats the picture you've painted above or not - I guess everything is open to interpretation - but thats what I've come out with.

As always Vurt, a job well done :)
