Heck. Got a call from police today that a former subordinate of mine from my army times had been taken in custody after driving under the influence. She is like a little sister to me so I decided to help her out as the other option would be for her to stay in the lockup for few days.

Anyhow I'll be getting her to a private dr. as soon as we come to my place from where she is being held. I decided it would be a better idea to stay out from where she lives if she wants to quit amphetamine for real. It is 750km drive to where she is being held and back to where I live so I have atleast time to talk with her on the trip back.

Anyhow what should I expect the withdrawals to be? She said she has been binging two weeks now and taking also some opiates along amphetamine (I was actually wondering where she had been that time). I don't know at all how amphetamine withdrawals are and if they may be fatal. What should I monitor? What are the signs to call ambulance if any? Should she be taking some drugs to help with the withdrawals?

I can't get touch into any drug rehab specialist until monday but atleast I can get her into private clinic to get some help in the mean time and also to hospital if needed.

Is it likely that amphetamine usage may lead into psychosis? She told she was driving to see a guy that we both know have been dead for years because he called him and told to meet him at a weird place. She was then busted while driving there. She can't remember much from last two weeks either and some parts she remembers don't seem real to me.

Anyhow I don't see the usual incohesive psychotic babbling which I have seen many psychotic patients to do.

She is likely experiencing a temporary psychosis. It should pass in days / weeks.

What is she saying she did for those two weeks? It might help to know this in determining how her mind is faring.

She said she has beem traveling in places where she would have needed to have his passport stamped but there aren't any stamps on the passport for this year. I know she were in the Netherlands and got atleast most of the amphetamine from there but she insisted she has been traveling also outside the Schengen area which would leave stamps to her passport.

She still says she truly was called by a dead friend of ours yesterday and that it was because someone tried to rape her while on some hotel room partying with guys she didn't know before and that oir dead friend would have helped her to get some revenge. She just told about that rape incident few moments before and now she started to sleep at last.

I guess that if someone had tried to rape her it is that along with amphetamine use which might have triggered that psychotic phase?i know that our late friend was a hot head and sometimes overprotective so she might have projected her feelings towards this and somehow got herself thinking she got a phone call or something.

I guess I have to get some facts about that and check out if the cops know more about this as although she had been using drugs it isn't ever an excuse for raping someone. I know that if someone had tried to rape her that guy would definately had suffered some injuries when trying to do that especially if he didn't succeed in that.

Well I hope that meeting a Dr. will help her to get things sorted out. Going to take a nap as I got plenty of kilometres to drive until we are at my place or at the Dr.

I am definately going to get her to the nearest hospital so they can check if there are some evidence of rape. While there I am going to get the military police (she was taken into their custody after she had been pulled over by cops) and regular police to go to that hotel where that was supposed to be happened and check if they can find some leads from there.

She said the customs officers didn't stamp her passport for some reasons but I know that just won't happen in countries she claimed she had been. I guess that part was some kind of lie to not let me know that she doesn't remember were she had been during those two weeks. She said she had been using amphetamine along with alcohol and opiates and using benzos for comedowns and as she had Halcions with her I guess she might have got amnesia multiple times and tried to make up some story trying to not sound incohesive or such.

Anyhow I am going to let the authorities handle the rape issue and hope she hadn't knocked out too badly that guy who tried rape her so that she won't get any problems for using excessive force (although I won't feel sorry for that guy). At the same time I am going to make sure she can have a best possible treatment for her drug problem especially if there has been more binges like that and I am trying to support her the best possible way I can.

It could also be a confabulation error (she really believes this happened as her mind manufactures a hypothesis and it becomes factual to her, since there's nothing else her mind can do).

Either way, you're a great friend for taking care of her.

Alcohol meth and halcyon sounds like the supreme recipe for disaster. I'm glad she isn't using now.

Seems like temporary atleast as she had been able to tell more those two weeks and admitted that she didn't remember a lot what happened during that time.

Too bad it was confirmed that there was in fact a sexual assault but due police investigation I can't say pretty much anything else than that the guy atleast got something for what he tried to do.

I managed to get her a meeting with a outpatient rehab clinic's dr for tomorrow and they said in a hospital that they won't prescribe anything for comedowns or staying sober but if one would take small amounts of benzos for anxiety it wouldn't harm at all for amphetamine use related issues too and precribed diazepam for anxiety instead.

Thank you. I am doing this as much for myself as I see this a way to pay up for society atleast somewhat for the help I have been getting for my own issues.

I'll try to get her back on normal daily routines from now on and get group support and similar help going on.

Thanks for both of you for your replies <3

We set up some help from the local detox facility and did all the paperwork related to that and sick leave for the army so there won't be any bigger problems with that too. She'll go to support group and therapy daily for few weeks and check after that if it should be as intensive for longer time. Luckily got the police interviews transferred here so we don't have to do 750km(~300mile) trip this week.

Today she emptied my fridge and has some visual distortions but diazepam seems to help with those "ants" crawling on floors and ceilings. I thought my vision has gone real bad as I didn't see them at all but after searching bluelight it seems like it is a part of the withdrawals.

Met my ex-wife in a grocery store and she had some kind of "look what the cat dragged in" look on her face when I told about that my friend is going to live for a while in my house but after she told what happened my ex-wife got a bit more encompassionate.
