My cat dosed 16mg hydromorphone 2 hours ago 10mg snorted 6 oral. About 30 mins ago his heart rate increased and he started shaking and this is ongoing and he is hoping is just a panic attack but has never had one on opiates. He has a moderate tolerance

I think your cat will likely die, unfortunately. Take it to the vet if it isn't already.

Your cat did a little more hydro than he could handle. It happens, just give the cat some space and let him do something that relaxes him. A nap possibly? When my cat needs something to mellow himself out a bit, he finds that a little smoke goes a long way. I'm sure yours will be fine too but if things don't calm down you might want to get some help.

Do vets carry narcan?
Let this be a timely reminder not to leave your drugs within reach of children or pets.

Poor kitty.

Sounds like anxiety. Hydromorphone has a pretty short duration, so after 2 hours you probably didn't have much more than 8 mg of that 16 mg dose left in your system. Sounds like you just got a bit worried and the panic crept in. It happens, I can attest to it happening to me before.

If you believe that you are possibly having a medical emergency then it would be wise to seek medical assistance immediately. Random people on a forum on the internet cannot be of assistance to you in an emergency. Also, please check out the rules here at Bluelight..it is against the rules to refer to yourself as "my cat" or "SWIM" or other such references...this does nothing to prevent self incrimination and just makes it difficult for others to read.

Please seek medical assistance if you believe you are in some type of danger.

Would you rather we called the police? "There's some guy on an internet forum, yeah, that's b - l - u - e - g - g - o, g - g - o.

Nope, I'd rather just a bit of reassurance and advising him to go to the hospital if it's serious. This forum is supposed to be for harm reduction, not to take the piss out of the guy who might be dying just because he made a drug forum faux pas.

It's called fucking compassion and empathy.

The OP may have made a mistake using the third person but in light of the rest of the post it's not a laughing matter.

Cunts.
It's ok - help is here ^

Seriously though - we are not trained to deal with Internet potential overdoses.
Not only did the OP refer to themselves in 3rd....uhm, creature - but they had the wrong continent's subforum.

That's no sin, and the dude obviously was not in the best state to know what was going on - but what advice or help can we offer someone in Alabama, all the way from from Australia - where hydromorphone (correct me if I'm wrong) is not a commonly prescribed (or street-diverted) drug?

If the OP was reporting classic opiate OD symptoms, I've no doubt people would have offered all kinds of sensible life-saving advice.

But you shouldn't give your cat strong narcotics, and you probably shouldn't mess with them yourself without suitable experience - or failing that, supervision.
If things get scary call an ambulance or a trusted friend - rather than a drug forum.
Sounds like a panic reaction, rather than an opiated overdose, to me at least.

No laughing matter - sure, I agree; but what do you expect us to do? Give a rundown of the various ER rooms in the state of Alabam

Of course, then there are the animal welfare issue to be taken into consideration.
I know a lot of people are leaving other shitty forums and ending up here.

But "3rd person posting" aside, even suggesting that you give your poor pet drugs needs to be strongly discouraged.

That shit's just offensive. You shouldn't even joke about it, because idiots will start dosing their pets, thinking it's funny; and it's not- it's really dangerous and cruel.

My cat would bite the shit out of anyone that tried to get her strung out on dilaudid.

Can't get hydromorph here in any form, been in the medical industry for a decade and never seen it here in OZ. The USA however... Yeah opiates can cause paradoxical reactions and if, for example, you have some hardening of the arteries it can cause a hypertensive crisis. I doubt the dose is in any way going to be fatal unless their is some kind of underlying health issue. OP see your GP perhaps be honest and say you have an opiate addiction, get on the methadone or whatever they give you in the USA and stop freaking out about stuff after doing drugs. If your able to post on BL your far from dying. I've seen people have heart attacks and you wouldn't have been able to write the post, you'd be on the floor out cold or dead. Sorry to sound like an arrogant twat but that is reality.

As for the cat see above post by spacejunk. About being a cunt... well they are useful and to be quite frank I'm not. I'm just a self opinionated shithead with my head so far up my own ass I can't see daylight. :)

as addicts, there comes a moment when we know to gallylop on these forums worried if we took too much, or worried about whatever, when we know thhe answer to our questions we post on here to begin with. There also comes a point in our addicts mind when we know we need to call 911 like FUCKING IMMEDIATELY and drop everything and pray we dont end up in the morgue tonight. most my gallylop posts are adderall induced. my real life emergencies are handled by 911, or wife next to me, or whom i live with

This is the op thanks everybody it had to have been a panic attack, shit was freaky tho. You guys are right if he could get on here an manage to post hes aight. Hes an addict flirting with hydromorphone for the first time as it seems rare compared to oc's percs tabs ect. My cat says its all good in bama, hadnt used bluelight much in years used to think you were supposed to speak in third person, but im actually a cat:) meow muthafuckas
