Have been taking 60 - 90 mg of oxycodone for the past three months. I currently have 12 mg of sub at my disposal. What is a proper oxy taper and sub regiment?

Sorry, but I could not find anything specific to my situation ( in regards to the sub ).

Not too sure about the sub... But if you seriously want to get off the oxy my best advice is to cold turkey. I know many people will flame me for this. I was on 180mg/day of Oxy IR and 120mg/day of extended release for over a year and a half. And I cold turkied it. If I can do it, you can too. Talk to your doc about it. The worst of it is the first week when you are WDing, it is hell. After that it is mostly high anxiety and... well, the runs. Your doc can prescribe you Clonazepam for day and Valium for night (or really bad panic/anxiety during the day), and a good sleeping pill to get through it...

I really wish you the best of luck and feel free to ask more questions if you have any!

Taper down quick w oc 80-to-60-to-40-20-nothing /day then wait 24 hours (DON'T RUSH IT) sniff .25-1mg suboxone adjust dose anywhere up to ~2mg / day. Maintain on sub for 4 days. Taper down quickly. Try taking 1/2 or 1/4 less previous day s dose (so if u took 2mg on day 4 take 1mg day 5 .5 day 6 etc... If this is too fast for u then go 2--->1.5-->1.25-->1--> .... as quick as u can to .25-.5 mg /day )
Try n get off sub inside 14 days. Acute symptoms will b covered up by it... Lil miracle drug.
When jumping off sub it can make it easier to take days off since it's got a long half life u were not specific on ur level of understanding so I'll assume u know what I mean if not ask....Like id take .75 mg on day 8 then not dose till day 10. Makes the final jump smoother IMHO

I was addictied to oxy and dilaudid in both iv an pill form....SUCKED to get off...the psych. dr I saw said that I was on them for over two years and my taper dose is not a normal one{it was two month taper does off of oxies}...I have major depression and they have to wean you really uber slow or else you are gonna go bonkers I did. that was in 09. I am recovering junky and have my second chance a pain contract...Praise God!! If you you have more indepth questions feel free to leave one. I am currently on tylenol bid and soma tid. it is working not fabulous like iv dilaudid and oxies but I am happy to be alive.

Wait as long as possible before I take the first sub (around 24 hours). Why is that? Will the longer I wait, be better? Also, will subs help with RLS as that is the WD that tears at my soul the most?

otherwise you'll go into precipitated withdrawal, bupe has high binding affinity so knocks any full agonist opioid off the receptors but is only a partial agonist so will send you into withdrawal.

Yea subs helps rls.
Wait 24 hrs b/c:
Say u got 60 mg oxi bound to ur receptors. It's a powerful opioid, SOO it has a high activity level at the binding site. Bupe has a low activity level, but has a higher binding affinity (bupe aka sub will bind to receptors more than oc would... If the oc is already there, it'll rip it off the receptor n replace it ... If u do oc after sub, it can prevent the oc binding meaning u may not get as high... This blockade effect increases as sub dose increases up to ~16mg in one dose I believe)
So ur remaining opiates ... Whatevers left from ur last oc dose... Is hanging onto ur receptor 24 hrs later. 12 hours later not enuf will have left and u will rip the rest off with bupe creating precipitated WD ... Which I'm sure all real opiate addicts will agree is worse than any normal WD or is at least equal to the worst they get...
Precipitated WD means essentially accelerated WD cuz bupe ripped ur opiates off and now u gotta wait till it body adjusts its baseline to bupe's new low activity level.
Also subs work better on days 3-4 than on day 1-2 cuz ur body adjusts to the lower baseline and it gradually becomes more comfortable for u
Definitely sniff ur subs. U use less that way. I see u seem to have only 12mgs so yea might be in ur best interest to use as sparingly as is comfortable. It can take a few hours to kick in the first bupe dose so dont go thinking it's not working then taking all of it or something. Also don't be an idiot and make sure ur taper is well planned relative to how much sub u actually have access to. I'd hate for u to do all of it cept like .25 by day 5 and then still get kicked by the tail of ur oc WD showing through the subs. Anyway it's hard to explain how it works without a diagram if u dont know much about drugs&the brain

Frequent other problems:
Super uncomfortable: naproxen, muscle relaxants
Tummy issues: immodium hells yes but don't buy name brand they rip u off. U want loperamide
Insomnia: benadryl or nytol or sumthin like that

And yea no matter how u slice n dice it it's gonna be a shit fuckin week but subs makes it so mch better .. If u have done it without and then later with or vice versa u gotta realize Ur getting off easy. I'd sooner shoot myself than detox without subs. But yea hack the first 24 hours (actually sleeping pills can really help for this...1st 24...) Sometimes I use ketamine too if te WD is unbearable (if u don't do k then ignore. I would not recommend a first time in WD) but with that habit u should b fine lol I detoxed the first time off 6x the amount u do. About 6-8 80oc a day. I remember telling the nurse my dosage and she thougt I was a loon. Ah well

Oh and to answe ur other q.... it's better to wait longer for subs if u don't like pain- u likely don't being addicted to painkillers-....
Taking subs after 24 hours isn't always safe. Do a test line wait a half hour and if u don't precipitate WD then take a bigger one. Otherwise there's really no reason to wait it won't change how the subs operate as soon as ur past the pwd line. I'm always a pansy on the first sub line. Pwd is awful. If u think u can wait u should. Being able to wait means WD is not that bad n that means probably still too much leftover opiate clinging to receptors. 36 hours is what I would call completely safe from pwd. But if ur really sick. Do 24hrs.
If u do get pwd anyways it will be over in 1-2 hrs assuming u waited the 24 ... So u choose. Either deal with it( ouch and I'm so sorry ) orrrr u can stop it with copious opiate abuse. U would need 2-3x ur normal dose (subs block it) but u can actually stop it if it's too intense. But usually by the time u can cop it'll be over. My advice is deal but hey sometimes u can't I kno.
