Bupe Help with My Situation.

A couple of things.

1. I was prescribed Suboxone last week. For the 1st 4 days I took 8mg as directed. I've decided I don't wish to be on this indefinitely. To taper down I took 4 mg's the 5th day and only 2mg's yesterday and today.
Considering I've been on Subs less than a week and at only 2mg's the last 2 days- When could I take my first Norco and feel it's effects? I know the half life is like 37 hours but does it matter as much when your on such a low dose and have been taking it less than a week?

2. I took 30mg of Valium with my 2mg dose of Subs tonight. Is that dangerous? I feel fine. Great even. I know mixing both at high levels is very dangerous.

It is dangerous, considering that a)I'm assuming (and correct me if I'm wrong) that you are on suboxone for a hydrocodone addiction. If that's the case, you have switched to a much more potent opiate. Buprenorphine does have the advantage of having a ceiling effect on resperitory depression, but all that goes out the window when you mix it with another depressant. Also, it takes suboxone around 2 weeks to stabalize in your blood stream and that's with consistant dosing. You've been on it for less than a week on inconsistent dosages (sure you lowered your dose, but the fact of the matter is that there is still a significant amount of buprenorphine left in your system from the half lives of your previous dosages). b)You are not taking a low dose of buprenorphine. When buprenorphine was first introduced as a pain med (and still today when it is used for pain), the dosages were in the microgram range (I believe the Temgesic tablets come in .2mg and .4mg strengths). 2mg is not a low dosage.
 
i'd wait 2-3 days and by that time a minimal amount of bup will be in your system, and hydrocodone will be able to bond with open opiate receptors
