Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but I need some help if possible...

Any one know any decent way to combat the chills of opiate withdrawal?
(besides using opiates)

I usually take hot baths but don't have access to that right now....

Any otc meds, herbal supplements, foods, etc...

The chills and goosebumps can be a bitch.

Chills and goosebumps are the worst symptoms you're having? Consider yourself lucky and ride it out.

As I titled the thread, I am in mild withdrawal. I use 65mg of methadone no more than once every 5 days, usually 7. However, I experience the chills and they are so overbearing that I quiver and shake from them and it is just a pain. I am not ready to quit opiates yet, so I would like to know if there is a way to combat these chills...

I have gone through severe W/D several times and know that I am lucky to only be experiencing chills. This is why I only dose once every 5-7 days- because I hate severe W/D....

So is there any way to find warmth without opiates.

(Drinking helps, but always feel like shit always the next day)

Get some Clonidine. That stuff is great for opiate withdrawal. If you are in fact just experiencing mild withdrawal as you say, take 0.1mg of Clonidine 2 times a day. Take some Imodium if you're having the runs. If you can get your hands on a benzo it'll help with the anxiety, insomnia and muscle spasms / jerking. If you can't get a benzo or don't wanna go that route, try Valerian instead. Drinking some Chamomile tea can also help relax you.

The one time I went to a hospital when I was in the middle of opiate withdrawal, they gave me:

0.1mg of Clonidine
50mg of Dimenhydrinate
10mg of Toradol
1000mg of Acetaminophen
1mg of Lorazepam

I felt well enough that I was able to sleep for a good 6 hours.
