I have been coming off suboxone film for the last 3 months, I've gotten down from 16mg to 1/4 of an 8mg strip a day. So basically 2mg. Which is going about as well as one could expect, withdraws suck eventually I cave and take my dose but slowly I'm getting there. Only problem is since I'm cutting up my strips now there is no way to tell exactly how much I'm taking, since the way the strips are made is the dose is powdered and spread throughout the orange film, because of this some parts are slightly more concentrated than others and I feel the only way I can take exact doses, is if I broke it down into water, or some kind of solution, so I would know exactly how much I am putting in my mouth every day, which I feel would make it easier for me to make gradual steps from here. I have seen forums on breaking down the pills but I just wanted to know if the same principles apply to the film. If I can just put it in a specific amount of water stirring occasionally and then measure out my dose every day. I also wanted to know if there is a limit to how long the suboxone can stay in the water before its chemical structure begins to break down. Since I know that many opiates can only spend so much time in water before their structure changes I want to avoid essentially throwing away my strips. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to make a note that I have no way of getting onto smaller strips, my clinic wanted me to come in 4 days a week just as I was starting a full time job and they also wanted me to stay on 16mg for 6 months before they even considered tapering me down, so they could make more money off of me I assume, so I said screw that stock piled my next few prescriptions as I started weening myself off and I've been running on that. Thanks for taking the time to read this I really appreciate the support.
