Help With a Proper Taper

Background:
Used opiates during freshmen and sophmore year of college. Like everyone else, I started out slow. 10mg would have me faded and puking. Fast Forward to sophmore year and I'm ranging between 60 and 120mg a day depending on money. My connect dried up and I went through withdrawals for a week. Worst experience of my life and I decided that no amount of mental euphoria was worth going through that again so I was clean for about 3 months. Started using again, albeit slowly at first. Got worse and then towards the beginning of last summer I started to use less and less and then began to buy suboxone from my dealer. I used between 1-4mg of suboxone a day throughout the summer (about 2 months) before realizing that I was now physically dependent on subs. Started school again and started using opiates again. Didn't let my use get up to 120mg again but I would take an 80 and be feeling dandy.

I'm at the point now where Im just tired of it all. The constant worry about having enough, about not getting sick, about lying to friends and family. I have money, a house, a job and friends so I'm not quitting out of necessity but out of my own desire to be free.

Was hoping for some advice about creating a taper to ease the withdrawals. I have friends who are willing to administer daily doses but I'm not sure about dose, length of total taper or what to expect and was hoping for some clarity from people who have done this before. I have access to OC, Roxie's and Opana. Today I used three 10mg Opana Er.

Thank you to anyone who responds with help! I'm ready to start this process...

Well i've never been to the point where im phsyically dependent but I do have mental cravings when I am using. Ive been using off and on for 6 months now, mainly on 2 week-1 month binges. What has worked best for me was dropping down my doses by 10-20% until Im at an amount where Im not really feeling anything(60-> 3 days later down to a 40 --> few days later down to a 30 etc, I stopped around 10) This worked for me and fortunately Ive never had to resort to subs to keep my WDs on lock down. Hope this helps man good luck with everything and try to stay positive

Personally I would recommend just stopping. Deal with the withdrawals, instead of just putting them off. If you have to use because you'll be too sick at work, then take just enough to get you by, but then come home, don't use any more.

Dealing with a week or so of being sick is much better than trying to plan everything out for weeks or more in an attempt to never be sick.
