Help wanted — sixty-five million need not apply

once something is in a private database it is there until they delete it.

I'm sure there are database managers that pitch themselves to firms by their exhaustiveness. If there are no laws to limit them, they will maintain a record for eternity.

The shit that gets to me the most is these fuckin companies like SUBWAY and fuckin, DOMINOES and shit like that, ban people with records...Like damn, who the fuck do yall think you are?? If you been arrested, you cant MAKE PIZZA?? Wat the FUCK does that have to do with your ability to do the job??

These aint even like high class, serious office jobs and shit like that. These aint jobs you need a college degree or even a GED for....They are just regular ass jobs, it aint some kind of prestigious thing, I dont get why they think they are such hot shit that only un-convicted people can work for them. it pisses me off when places like that think they so goddamn great that somebody who bought a gram of weed 4 years ago and did 6 months of probation aint good enough to work for them. 8(:|

I tried getting a job picking up dog shit and walking dogs.... I passed the drug test, pretty much was told i was going to get the job but they had to do a background check... I failed the background check and didn't get the job....

A job for literally picking up dog shit i was denied because of my felony drug charge on my record... Just to show you how hard it is to get a job with a record....

I left the establishment with a total loss of words... It is not like i was going to steal dog shit or sell drugs to dogs.... I was happy as hell at first because i love animals especially dogs.... i told my parents i pretty much got the job because that is what i was pretty much told.... Than i had to tell them i didn't get the job because of my police record.... I am pissed that i was unable to secure a job picking up dog shit and walking dogs.... I pretty much lost all hope in securing a job after being denied a job picking up turds... My folks thought i was bullshiting them and thought i failed a drug test, so i went to riteaid picked up a drug testing kit and popped my self to PROVE to my folks that did i indeed passed the drug test but failed the background check... Even my folks where at a loss of words

Lolz.....quoted for absolutely muthafuckin' truth!:) And the dog-walking thing? WTF!?8)

Damn, Unbreakable, that's harsh! Know what? You could start your own dog walking business and take all their customers. Minimal start-up cost, almost no overhead, and you like dogs.

I don't believe ANYONE should ever even be ARRESTED in the 1st place for having any kind of "drug charge." Fucking disgrace - humanity is..

I think it goes to show truly how brainwashed some people are about drugs, drug addiction, and drug addicts/ex-drug addicts, or just recreational users who just happen to have accumulated a record.

Wow, that is the best idea ever!!!

You should totally do that. :)

^ agreed, but I don't think it is humanity that is the disgrace.
Instead, I blame the governments who make these laws, and the people that enthusiastically support them.

I couldn't agree more.

America is know for one highest Arrest records.... Also has high unemployment wonder if both of these have anything to do with each other....

I think it (it being, the economy is in the shitter and no one has a job that pays better than part-time McDonald's work) has more to do with the war on drugs than anything.

Ignoring the high number of arrests per total citizens, I think overall the war on drugs is sapping a lot of money out of a lot of different places, which in turn limits the profit margins for individuals who run their own companies, while at the same time driving up prices for all items in most stores you and I would typically shop at. Along with the sheer money that the US government wastes on the war on drugs, and the ever-present inflation of the US dollar, it has become clear to me that for the US as a whole, will have a high unemployment rate as long as the war on drugs is in place.

In response to the arrest rate in America, the jail in our county holds about 700 people, there is currently over 750 people there, and on the news they keep arresting people who are using 'bath salts' to get high. They are not arresting them for having the salts, they are leegal after all, they are arresting them for 'disorderly conduct' and ' disturbing the peace'.

So more and more people go to the prison that we can't put any more people in.

that's really interesting. Links?

(wow I hate having to type my entire user name to log in. Why did I pick this ridiculous moniker?)

"resisting arrest" and "disorderly conduct" and "public intoxication" are instruments of convenience for law enforcement. Here's more:

  • trespassing
  • prowling and loitering
  • disobeying a lawful order
  • obstruction of justice
  • battery on a law enforcement officer
  • [and others]

(why is public intoxication illegal? Has this never been challenged on 1st amendment grounds? Behavior is a form of speech.)

The following is an example of a local ordinance dealing with public intoxication:

Public intoxication.
(a) A person commits the crime of public intoxication if he appears in a public place under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or other drug to the degree that he endangers himself or another person or property, or by boisterous and offensive conduct annoys another person in his vicinity.
(b) Public intoxication is a violation.

So apparently the definition allows them to arrest someone if they feel that their behaviour is going to cause harm to either himself or another person or someone else's property. The offender may also be arrested if they 'annoy another person "his" (the offender) vicinity'

That last part just makes me laugh, people annoy me all day, I don't call the cops.
