Hmm, scale that up a bit, say three C cells, and a gal could have a lot of serious unicorn-based fun

I hate the concept of christmas, it's a capitalist holiday. I've spent £300 on presents for people, but still feel like it's not enough, like I try to undo the rest of the years wrongdoing. I bet rich people who can blow a few grand on christmas will actually feel better about themselves. If you can overwhelm someone with gifts it does make you feel better. I guess the moral of the story would be money solves all problems. This is what I have learned from society today.
I bet a lot of people don't have 300£ to spend on food/rent let alone gifts - does blowing that much money make you feel better about yourself ? If you really care for the person and them you, gifts are not needed (I do not buy my husband any gifts, he does not buy me anything). Do you need to get swamped with gifts to make you feel appreciated, loved etc
Yea Bear I agree it was just a bit of dry humour but only having £300 to spend on buying people presents does make me feel a bit shit. I bet a lot of people feel the same its annoying this time of year watching others throw around lots of money when your quite skint, I've gone for the meaningful presents like framed photo's things people really wanted but don't cost a bomb.
But there's no doubt about it it's a good feeling having the money to spend, in a strange way it feels like repenting your sins.
One of the rich families I know set a £5 limit on all gifts...As for me Im getting my two little ones some fags and razor blades for a larf and the missis is getting a hoover
not sure what to get the wee man (he's at that age that an empty cardboard box will be sufficient).

And there you have your answer
Just make the most of it mate - society soon teaches them not to be content with empty boxes for long (the selfish little fuckers). We got hit with Xmas lists totalling 2 grand each this year... But you know what? Instead, I gave them both the most precious gift possible - the gift of fuckin laughter...![]()

£2000 Xmas list! Haha, they are totally taking the piss, well done in teaching them the gift of laughter you have taught well, they are obviously little jokers...
On a serious note, it's scary how materiistic we all are when it comes to Xmas and I suppose in general in the West. When you think anout it a cardboard box was once an appreciated item, we are all taught via our peers, parents the media that commercialism is somehow good, it's what we need, we need fancy trinkets, we are prepared to overspend and put ourselves into financial difficulty, the greed is good mentality. What a bunch of absolute lunatics we are.
Yes it's scary n scary how I've been drawn into it i'm actually scared I've not bought my child enough n that she'll have a miserable christmas even though it should be about fun, laughter n love
