Do you have a scale? If so you could do this: 18mg of 100mg is 18% of the pills total morphine mg. Weigh the whole pill then determine what 18% of that weight is. I.e. if the pill weighs 400mg then 400mg x .18 = 72mg. 18% of it's weight will give you 18mg's of morphine. Shave off 18% of it's weight and that will give you 18mg of morphine in the powder.
Another way: Dissolve the morphine into 100mL of water. Now 1ml = 1mg. Therefore you could just drink 18mL.

The second method is way better. Medicine does not have to be evenly spread throughout a pill. The scored sides must have equal amounts, but if its unscored the active ingredients could be anywhere.

No prob. My buddy used to be a pharmacy student. Only scored pills are guaranteed to be equal. Pretty good chance it's all spread out relatively evenly, but the don't have to be by law. Better safe than sorry I guess.

uhhhh…. for the second method im pretty positive you have abuse proof morphine pills or also known as MScontin. when water is added to the pill it will turn into a gel or goop like substance that is extremely difficult to work with. just keep this in mind!

For unscored pills that don't need to be distributed evenly (although my experiences may contradict this.... for HR purposes I will not say that they distribute the morphine evenly because that's a serious HR liability, my experiences are subjective and are my own only. Others may react differently, and should remember that I am not qualified to make statements like that, I don't feel comfortable doing so because I don't know how the pharmaceutical companies are making the pills), like MSContin which by design shouldn't be split, crushed, etc because it affects the time release in a dangerous way.
In my experience though, I'd use a pill cutter to divide MS100ER into 4 pieces of 25mg and then weigh each piece on my milligram scale. Why do you say 18mg? I never had any problems with the 25mg dosage ha.
