Opioids HELP: should I do an at home detox with naltrexone?

Hey guys.
Here's my situation:
I recently started using dope again after getting off with suboxone in august and having about a month off the sub's. I went on about a week-long binge and my tolerance is right back up to where it used to be, caught a habit again and everything.
Problem being, I just ran out of cash to support my habit for a few days and though I'm not dopesick yet (thank GOD for scrapes lol) I know I'm gonna wake up tomorrow, or even later tonight and be goin through it.
I have a full bottle of once-a-day naltrexone tablets that were perscribed to me for relapse prevention (obviously never took em), and I heard that taking them while you still have opiates in your system will send you into precipitated wd's but it goes by much faster than regular withdrawals and can also lower your tolerance...
I'm thinking about just buckling down and taking them so I can get this over with, but I wanted a second opinion.
Thanks!

I'm seriously thinking about just doing it. Is there any particular reason why you think I shouldn't?

I don't know, I've read a few things about others who've tried it.
Only reason I'm considering it is because it takes less time and it will lower my tolerance when I go get high again lol. Also, because of the phobia I make in my head about getting sick, it'd be kind of nice to have that control and be like it's happening right now because I'm the one who took this pill...no waiting all paranoid for the dope to completely wear off. It takes out the anticipation.

it goes by faster because it condenses the awful withdrawal into a shorter period so its much more intense. When they administer naltrexone for rapid and ultrarapid opioid detox there is a reason they put you under general anesthesia. Its pure torture.

Seriously, HORRIBLE IDEA.

I thought of this idea once, I figured it couldn't be that bad. I've gone through withdrawals all the way before, so what the hell. Just take some naltrexone and force withdrawals, speed through them, and be fine right? Wrong.

Within 20 minutes of taking one of these horrid things, had I access to a gun I would've killed myself. Horrible pain/vommiting/direara/sweats/chills/anxiety.

Normal withdrawals come on over time, you get one symptom, then another, and so one. With this you will get them ALL at the same time and like 20x stronger. I couldn't even get loperimide down because I would just vomit. It was the most disgusting I've ever felt.

Don't be stupid, just deal with normal withdrawals, and if you can't deal with normal ones you will probably kill youself from these, HORRIBLE. I wish I could erase that memory from my mind

Okey doke. Thanks for the advice. I would have just popped the pill and learned the hard way lol.

if you seriously plan on going forward and doing this anyway, make sure you get some benzos or something to lower your blood pressure to knock yourself out because the pain is going to be pure hell. I recommend Librium, Ativan, Xanax, or Valium. Any of these should be good to reduce the hell and help you sleep.

yes, acute withdrawals are a motherfucker of pain, i can't imagine forcing myself into wd with naltrexone. fentanyl jumps straight into my mind here, some of the worst withdrawals i've ever encountered.

to the OP i would personally leave the naltrexone out of the equation and taper if possible, going through the bupe withdrawals. it will be a lot less tormenting on you physically and mentally.

yea, taking the naltrexone to get you off of opiates isnt going to fix your issues in my opinion. It will only put you through hell. Obviously your experience with suboxone wasnt enough to help you stay clean. you still had that urge to use. Maybe you didnt use the suboxone long enough to adjust back to sober living properly, maybe you didnt taper off of the suboxone properly resulting in you having "leftover urges" or something. Or maybe you needed something other than suboxone to keep you clean. Have you tried therapy and counseling and other similar methods of adjusting your mind back to thinking and living like a sober person.
Most of the time our relapses are a result of our brains not being mentally "stable" or not being use to living life sober. And sometimes it takes a longer time on a maintanence drug like suboxone to fix that....and soemtimes it takes other methods such as couseling etc...to fix that issue.
Good luck.

I don't think you understand the seriousness of just how horrid your going to feel if you induce withdrawal with naltrexone. It's not like a regular detox at all. When you withdrawal the symptoms come on slow and one at a time. They leave slow and one at a time. You kind of adjust to the pain and shitty feelings and find various ways to comfort yourself. If you induce withdrawal, it literally feels like your..... dying? I don't know. its fucking horrible. You'll probably end up calling 911 on yourself freaking out. That is if you can even pick up the phone without dropping it because your going to be shaking so bad.

Nooo!

Taking the naltrexone WILL put you into WD, but once the Naltrexone wears off whatever opiates that are in your system will re attach! When you take the Naltrexone, it knocks the opiates off your receptors but all that means is they circulate in your blood until the naltrexone wears off, naltrexone will not get the drugs out of your system any faster.

I took naltrexone, and when you take it the right way you can and will erase your addiction! Its an off label use but my doc used it to treat all his addict patients! I suggest getting the naltrexone shit once your clean for a week, I had the same problem not taking the pills but after getting the shots for a few months my addiction was killed off a lot and I was able to take the pills by myself with no relapses.

If you are worried about withdrawals why take the naltrexone pill. I understand it will speed up the withdrawal process but you will go from the feeling of unbearable withdrawals to COMPLETE HELL feeling like death. I would rather have a mellow detox then heavy preciptated withdrawals.

If you are anything like me (which it sounds like you are..) you are going to be feeling so fucking shitty you will be right back on dope in no time.

And you are worried about your tolerance going down so you can use again? Why do you want to get this over with so quick so you can just do it all again? Your tolerance will naturally decrease FAST anyway just from abstaining from H.

Opiate withdrawals are generally pretty safe. i.e. even with a real bad habit you can detox on your own, in a jailcell, etc.. By taking naltraxone you are taking it to a whole other level. You will not have any doctors to monitor you, (or be IV sedated for that matter) like you would at a rapid detox. There is a reason you are put to sleep while doing rapid detox. And it is EXTREMELY hard on your body. Take our advice, do not do this while you are conscious and not under the care of a doctor. You are risking serious heart palpitations, dehydration, etc.. Pretty much all your withdrawal symptoms seriously amplified.

Is this true? How would the opiates circulate in your blood??? I am not saying your wrong, it just doesn't make sense to me.

listen m8 that is really a bad idea, pls really think about it seriously
, there is no way i would put my self into a rattle they are fucking bad enough on there own so fuck that, so think carefully cant you get some vallies or something or ket and numb your self through it, wat ever you decide good luck!!!

I'm going trough CT w/ds right now from an IV oxy/HM/OM habit... I think at this point, I would take the naltrexone. Faster, more intense w/ds sound better than 5 or 6 days of hell. I dunno. Maybe I'm just delirious from the w/ds.

ugh

no, no , no!

you will hate life more than ever if you do that. trust me...i know it sounds easy theoretically..believe me, precipitated wd is the worst thing you've ever felt.
