I would like to learn as much as I can about the practice of journalism, as in the styles and standards expected from a 'proper' journalist.

It occurred to me that one could write something worthwhile and still be shot down in flames because of some oversight you never knew ( or bothered) to learn about.

Suffice to say..(analogy)Before launching a ( dream on ) flair attack. Would it be correct that one needs a watertight professional defence, that is recognised for what it is by people in the business. , would the ( highly imaginary) flair attack be ignored ,and the amateur nature of the defence discredited and the celebrants then most liable to congratulate themselves & mock the hapless fool ?

I would appreciate any lynx or perhaps books or anything someone/anyone can recommend that could help me to try to understand the parameters & standards expected. Obviously this will vary with the gravity and relevance of anything produced, but I think you catch my drift.......hopefully:)

^ Learnin to get it across to as wide an audience as possible & not just the people with strange perspective. ;)

I suppose I reckon if you want to say something then the more effectively you can do so the better.:)

I am attempting to see if I can learn do it better. :)

Tis all!

OH@Felix, great link & to a writer with who I am familiar & regard as the best ever British communicator from the modern age.

My thanks
