I just recently got back into doing dope again, and am having major problems right now, im an idiot for getting back into it.

Ok, so ive been shooting since monday last week fine. Then i get this new batch couple days ago and everything goes fine with it until late last night. Last night i shot my last one before bed and approximately an hour later ended up getting cotton fever like symptoms, minor shakes, rapid heart beat, and sense of panic. After about an hour it went away though and I took a tylenol pm and fell asleep feeling worn out. Also, at some point during this day I did an IM shot.

Then around 3 pm today I shot up again and everything seemed to be fine. But then around 5:30 i started to get cotton fever symptoms again. Which is weird because it was almost two hours probably more after I shot. And this time they are hanging around longer, its minor symptoms for the most part, but I still have them now 3 hours later. On and off rapid heart beat, minor shakes, and I am just in a very panicked state of mind.

Im afraid I could have endorcartis or sepsis because the only times I have gotten cotton fever in my life it has gone away after an hour or two. And its really weird this time, at some points ill come down and feel like im going to be ok, and then out of no where the symptoms will start back up.

Sometimes I feel like i may be short of breath too, but thats probably just b/c I'm still oped out and my body is just depressed in general. Right now I feel ok again, but I know I could start freaking out again at any moment. And I know its not all in my head, i start to feel weird for a minute, and then the rapid heart beat comes back, etc.

Comments, suggestions, anything please! Thank you so much to anyone who has a word of advice.

I'm considering going to hospital but I dont have money for that and family members would find out....

more info: also i feel like my chest is tightening or sinking in at some points, but im getting so caught up in it at this point im not sure. im thinking about doing another shot and cleaning everything really well, new syringe, etc just to calm myself down and try to sleep this off...

quick question, quick answers please

so i just recovered from possible cotton fever (hopefully its not something worse), i had on-off rapid heart beat, minor shakes, panicky at times, etc.

now i just feel very fatigued, and nerves are still slightly queasy from the experience.

so how good/bad of an idea is it to load up with all new clean materials and shoot again to relax and enjoy the rest of my night?
 
I'm not sure if you realized but this is a forum, people respond when they read the thread and impatient titles don't really expedite that whole process...

On a more serious note... have you had cotton fever before? Are you sure it wasn't just anxiety? How long ago did this occur/how long has it taken you to recover?
 
didnt mean it to be impatient, i was just trying to present my dilemma in a different manner, since my original post was obviously too long.

it wasnt just anxiety, i do not have random panic attacks when doing heroin, maybe sometimes when im in withdrawal, but they r mild compared to what happened.

i shot at 3, symptoms came on at 5:30, last til about 9. i think im starting to feel better as time continues to pass. still havent shot again yet, but i think im going to with all new materials, i believe the spoon may have been the dirty part. hoping this all was just a mild cotton fever attack, i really freaked out tho and was thinking i had given myself something worse since it had occured the day before today too.
 
id see what happens with yur next one..if yu feel fine afterwards i wouldnt worry no more bout it..any1 ever use pieces of a hepa filter to clean a shot?

nice rush, but now it will be awhile before i know if im in the clear for sure, considering it took over 2 hours for symptoms to appear after my last shot. and about an hour day befo that.

oh my god rapid heart beat symptoms returning!!!!

now that i think about it i didnt clean the injection site off w/ my hand sanitizer, i was doing so many other germ killing duties i forgot the most obvious. now im calming down a bit, but i still feel it. if they came on this quickly, i might be totally fucked here soon.
 
what r yu filtering with and wat r yu shooting btw...i would quit using cotton btw that shits not good whatsoever
 
Even if it wasn't anxiety before, your hesitance and nervousness about this shot and the uncertainty probably made you real nervous anyway.

Just take your mind off it and relax. You'd have more symptoms than what you're describing if it were something more serious.
 
i dont have a micron...yu think i could use pieces of a hepa filter from my air purifier? it says hapf30 from holmes searched the holmes website its a legit hepa .3 micron filter? im just nervous for some reason pieces of the filter will get in the shot becuz its not cotton nor a wheel..idk ...help?
 
unfortunately, I can't answer that question for you. Try the advanced search feature for terms like what you're talking about and see if you get any hits, play around with the options like "title only" etc
 
yea i relaxed and nodded for a lil bit, but now im on edge a lil bit. the mind game is definitely playing a role now. if my life had a theme song rigth now it would be usher cause im "sooo caught up" lol just trying to help myself relax w/ humour. im just gonna try and not think about this for awhile and watch tv, but ill post back relatively soon and let u guys know how its going.

ive been trying to think of other filters to use too pink, i have had one too many bad experiences with the cotton now days. and i really dont use often enough to order a bunch of micros off the internet.

no go on the search..i can't believe it..am i a genius for thinking of using that or an absolute idiot? haha its gota work..the only thing i am second guessing is that it is for filtering AIR particles...but its still .3 microns and my senses say any filter medium for whatever purpose it is supposed to fulfill, will work on any substance in any state of matter eg. air filter filtering a liquid...im just goin for it...ill be the rat.

heard a dude used surgical masks that are .2 microns...same type of idea...hes fine..and not poor from buying 100 microns for $500..

well the one time I for sure got cotten fever within ten mins of the shot I started shaking really bad, felt like I was FREEZING and had the WORST headache ever. do you have a bad headache? I think that's a very common symptom. I believe cotton fever can last up to 12 hours as well, whereas sepsis must be treated. you might wanna Google It if you haven't already just to confirm what I'm saying. when I got it it was horrible for hours till I ggot another shot (they say that's the only thing that makes It go away or at least make you feel better) but I still had a horrible headache till midway thru next day.

if you think it could be from your cottons toss them and get new ones. preferably q tip brand. I've only ever gotten cotton fever from cheap Off brand ones. clean and disinfect all your shit and use new rigs. hopefully its not your dope. if it is then what you have isn't cotton fever prob some kind of bacteria. maybe try different shit if you have another hook?

I really hope you feel better soon I know how bad that shit sucks.

parker, I merged your two threads, I understand you're panicking but please don't start multiple threads on the same topic within a short period. We only need one on the subject. As I said before, you won't get replies quicker just because you label it like this...

If you really think you are having an emergency then you should go to the hospital and get checked out to be safe.
