Help question about subutex need answers asap please

I apologise I have been in the megathread for hours and can't find the end to reply, or to see if anyone is current in there I need some advice.

I'm in the uk. I am prescribed 10mg subutex daily sublingually. I havet been dosing my subs and have approx .5g heroin a day habit, I don't take any other drugs or drink at all.

I've had enough of the heroin. I have a shot at a really good job, my partner doesn't know im using and would freak, i have way to much to loose on this drug.

Ok so I ran out of money yesterday so decided best day to jump back onto the subs. I had a bag at about 11am. Then waited till 11pm I wasn't feeling real bad w-d but it was starting, I know it was probs to early to take the subs but I thought maybe if I dropped and went to sleep I may ride it in my sleep. So I dropped 10mg of subs. I slept from 11 to 230am. Woke drenched in sweat. So I dosed another 10mg subutex I thought if I'm gonna p wd then just do it. I felt crappy but using cows at the worst I felt I only scored 10. Sweating, yawning, water running from eyes and nose and loose stools.
Then I checked my bank and ffs I'd been paid benefits of been waiting on. So at 830 am I scored 4 bags and did them (smoked on foil) the gear isn't great and doesn't hold that long. I didn't feel a thing from it tbh I think psychologically it has made me feel better but when I really sit and think and feel, I wasn't feeling that bad anyway...

Ok so the 20mg of subs are clearly enough to be cancelling out the effects of the gear. My question is this, If I wait until late tonight say 11pm again and take another big subutex dose do u think I'll be ok??

It friday tomorrow and pay day again. I really don't want to waste my money. If I can sleep and wake up not rattling, I know I can do it.


I guess I'm asking because I have 20mg sub in my system which did make me feel a bit crap while it kicked the remaining heroin out. Although i have used today I felt nothing (and on no subs i would have been wasted off 4 bags) taking the subs tonight should be ok shouldn't it? I mean I shouldn't have wd should i?? Any input would assist.

I don't take sleepers as I have kids I'm gonna try get some buscopan to stop my tummy being clenched as that keeps me awake.

I know I can do this I appreciate ur thoughts. I do metabolise subs fast (I can take at 7pm and won't show on a mouth swab at 9am next day) but I so want back on my subs, 20mg is a massive dose for me, in a couple of days I know 4-6mg will be fine I just need to get there.

Does anyone answer here? It's been 24 hour since I used h. I just took 10mg subs a couple hours ago, got a bit of leg twitching slept a bit. Just troubled sleep. Today is hard as it's payday.

Hi,

You should be fine yes. In my experience I've never suffered any ill effects from using subs and gear in that order. I have read reports of people being knocked sideways from it though so it's always best to err on the side of caution and leave taking your subs until you really need to.

Stick with it CBaby, it does get easier and much sooner than you're probably thinking it will right now, it can seem like an eternity at the time.

Im sorry but ive never taken subutex - however i am on 70mls of methdone daily and plan to reduce to 0 using subutex towards the end of my taper. Although I couldnt advise you regarding doses or amounts - i would suggest smoking just enough heroin to give yourself 24 hours and allow you to sleep then get the kettle on, and wait untill you are in excruciating wd before taking whatever a decent dose of subutex is to you. If you are stable on a couple of bags of half decent street heroin then 36 -48 hours should be long enough, just try and relax in the meantime, take a small dose of benzodiazepine after the gears well worn off, or smoke some weed, watch a trilogy of films, anything to just chill and kill the time.

Start tommorow (sunday)and by tuesday afternoon you should be starting to feel well poorly. Take your subutex tuesday night, and stick to it from there. Sorry i cant be more specific. Do not use any other opiates/opioids even otc like co codamol or loperamide. Use ibuprofen for pain. In spain they sell it in 600ml tablets - so three of our 200mg twice a day if safe in the short term for aches and pains.

Yeah I waited until 4am this morning it got bad and took 10mg throughout the day I've done 28mg altogether but no gear for over 36 hours now, that's the longest time since August last year when I was away at a festival all weekend. Thought I'd sleep tonight as I did last night but been lazing around all day which is shit.

So had a little rls after the first subs but other than that mild stomach cramps/hunger pains. Tomorrow im hoping is a hell of a lot better, I got thru 1 pay day.

Can I ask why your gonna come off methadone onto subs rather than taper the meth? Last time I got clean and was clea. For 5 years I jumped off 10ml meth and was absolutely fine, I did t sleep for 3 days but on the 4th has a tiny spliff and slept, I don't take any other drug, sleepers etc are out I have kids. I don't like weed makes me anxious when withdrawing. So it's pretty much subs and nothing. I don't think I'd wanna jump from meth to subs to get off sounds painful to me, but that's just me, I mean won't u wd going on the subs and the. Coming of the subs? I'd try to get as low as u can on meth then jump. It may take time but if ur ready it is easy xxx. All the best x

Sorry, overlooked the part about ur kids - ur right to keep away from using downers.

Ive done about 5 full cold turkeys from street heroin - on each occasion the real pain would start at around 30 hours and id usually lose sleep on nights 2,3 and 4. Night 5 would bring short periods of rest, leading to an improved day 6, by which time id be feeling better and would know that I was getting over it.

10 years of relapses have seen me surrender to treatment for the first time - as ive never taken buprenorphine and as i have daily access to methadone i dont have any idea what the withdrawal profiles will be like for these drugs. Anecdotally, I have heard that due to its long half life, methadone is very uncomfortable to come off due to the length of the wd period, where as bupe isnt as bad. I also understand that if i can reduce my methadone towards the 20mg/day mark, the swap over to subutex should be reasonably easy, i may have to endure only 24-48 hours of pain at the most to avoid precipitated wd. I also may be going into a 14 week rehab program - and if im not opiate free by the time this placement becomes available the facility has an 8 bed inpatient unit where they can offer me a 2-4 week detox using buprenorphine - they wont accept patients who are still prescribed methadone.
