Opioids Help (Possible OD?)

A friend of mine (yes, really a friend. not me) just recently IV'd 100mg pure methadone hcl. Only after the fact did he tell me he has no current tolerance to opiates. (He used to shoot dope frequently.) Now, I know the dangers of methadone and all that stuff, but he didn't and I'm kind of worried about him. I assume he wont be coming up for a while since it's methadone.

Anyway, should I talk him into going to the hospital? Or should I wait it out until he comes up and just watch him carefully and see how he feels and then judge from there? Either way I don't plan on leaving his side.
 
When was the last time he shot dope? If its been years, hes gonna be in trouble shooting 100mg of Methadone, that shit is no joke. He might have to go to the E.R.
 
If your friend doesn't have any tolerance for opiates/opioids, 100mg methadone IV is way too much. There's no way to know for sure because there's no way for us to know exactly what your friend's tolerance is.

Methadone does take a while (read: hours) to fully kick in, so he may not be feeling the full effects just yet. It does sound like he took a lot though. If your friend has trouble breathing, passes out, etc, seek emergency medical attention (call 911 or whatever your local emergency telephone number is). I'm going to close this thread because we can't offer medical advice of this type on this forum.

My personal opinion is that if you friend has little to no opiate tolerance, that is way too much methadone. Contact professional medical advice.
