Hi, I am I pain. I use Tramadol (3x150er+100ir) and Prednisolon (20mg) only in the mornings because they disrupt my sleeping very seriously. When Tramadols effects weans off, I’ll usually take two or three apap/codeine (500mg/30mg) pills with two indometacin/ethylmorphin (30mg/20mg) capsules. I also use Lyrica 150mg three times a day and sometimes some clonazepam/diazepam or temazepam with zolpidem. I don’t use alcohol anymore but do smoke weed sometimes. I have tried buprenorphine but it didn’t help enough.

Is my only choice oxycodone, which is mainly used for cancer and after surgeries where I come from?
My doctors has denied all exercising, which is terrible cause I am used to jogging and going to the gym 3-5 times a week plus swimming etc.

Basically I am asking if someone knows some superior NSAID´s or Opioids or something else for the endless nerve pain? Sorry if this doesn’t fit here I am just getting desperate cause the pain makes even typing hard.

There are actually quite a few opiate/opioid medications out there that may really, really help you! Besides oxycodone, there's morphine, dilaudid, oxymorphone, just to name the strongest and most popular. I know someone with nerve pain who takes MSContin and it helps her immensely, while the other person I know loathes morphine because it doesn't work for her (she takes oxycodone and dilaudid).

A lot depends on what your body responds to. Do sit down with your doctor and talk about proper pain management. You deserve a life with little pain!

Honestly have you tried something geared towards nerves? I had a pinched nerve in my lower back and even the strongest of the narcs didn't help me...ie. fentanyal, perks, vicodine...I was on something called neurontin and that helped me more than anything. Talk to your doctor about never relaxers coupled with the narcs it should give you the most relief. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for your replies! Lyrica works pretty much the same way as neurontin. I am waiting surgery and my gp doctor has no rights to prescribe stronger meds then trams and so on. Where I am from you don’t get proper meds by going to a private sector even if you have clearly documented diseases (in my case I am too young and in too good shape to have that sort of pain which requires stronger meds!). I am waiting to see my hospital doctor. She if someone will definitely make things better for me. My dream would be that I wouldn’t need any meds, so don’t get me wrong, after the surgery I will stop every unneeded meds and start enjoying life!

I found this one cream that eases my pain better then many pills do and thats cool!

Have you thought of getting some physio or massage therepy? I have suffered with nerve pain and a strong massage with some lazer treatment really helped. The massage really helped things at the time and loosened me up and the lazer got through to the muscle / nerve and helped too. Just an idea mate.

Yes I have tried it all. Actually my physical therapist just told me that we have tried all the things he knows and nothing seems to help. This is my third time in physical therapy whit the same problem. I have tried acupuncture treatment, many different types of massage and many other treatments whit little help. Thanks although! I have intentionally avoided stronger opioids when they tried to prescribe those. Now when I truly would need something strong I need to wait at least a week or so. This one gel is doing wonders for me (Perskindol). It feels unbelievable good when the pain is debilitating my motility badly.

Thanks xbloodwhipx, but hydrocodone is not available here in Finland. The only so called middle strength opioid available here is bupe. The opioids in the market here are listed as follows: “weak”: codeine-ethylmorphine-tramadol, “moderate”: buprenorphine, “strong”: oxycodone—methadone-morphine-fentanyl. In hospitals you can get different meds, but that is what we have available on pharmacies.

Aaah, sorry to hear that man, do you mind me asking what the problem is? There may be other meds than typical pain relief meds that can help?

I find physical therapy is a waste of time. I have scoliosis & I find stretching out at home & walking about a half mile a day helps way more than therapy. Every time I would leave physical therapy, my pain would worsen Y I would suffer serious pain the rest of the night. How do you feel about physical therapy?

You are absolutely right NeighborhoodThreat. I am discussing this matter with multiple doctors because my gp doesn’t have the knowledge that is needed. I have scoliosis and my shoulder is fucked up in many ways (waiting surgery). LostBoys I have exactly the same thoughts on physical therapy then you have.

The day before I started this thread I was also diagnosed Multiple sclerosis. It’s not 100% sure yet and I am hoping the best. You can close this thread as it serves only my intentions. And it’s true that only my doctors can make decisions in this case. I was only trying to get some sympathy. And it worked :)
Thanks!
