My gf and I came up with a schedule. She is going to be handing out my dose everyday, tapering down to nothing by the new year.
Well let’s see now, will it be Mr. Red, or will it be Mrs. Red still alive by the new year? 8(
With the new Florida laws starting 1-1-12, next week will probably be my last script for Oxycodone. I guess I could go back to the pill mill, but I've gotten to the point that living with my pains will be better than playing with all of the new, and always changing, Florida laws for pain meds. Or maybe my doctor has found someone that can and will write the script for me.
My script for about the last 3 years is Oxycodone #240 15mg 1-2 every 4 hours as needed. With Thanksgiving and all I went from an avg. 120mg a day up to the allowed 180mg a day. The last week I've had to cut back to 80mg a day to make them last and to taper down to quite.
I've been taking Benadryl and drinking white grapefruit juice with the Oxycodone. I've been able to cut back on the doses I'm taking down to 3 times a day at 30mg.
I know drinking grapefruit juice and taking Benadryl has been good to get the doses and mg's down to make the script last longer, but I don't know if it's a plus for tapering to quite...in fact, in the big picture, it could make quitting harder. But I'd say it would be a good mind game to get use to taking less mg’s and waiting longer between doses.
BTW, you both should get life insurance on one another so that the one that lives through your tapering/quitting will be rich. I wish you luck!!!
