[HELP] MY FRIEND OVERDOSED ON 25i [HELP]

Last night my good friend "Shaq" was hospitalized after experiencing a 50 minute seizure. From what I've heard he took a drug known as 25i. He became very load and obnoxious during his drug induced state. After being kicked out of a friend's house by his mother, my friends and I took Shaq and started aimlessly driving around. After 10-20 minutes of us trying to figure out where to go, he experienced a seizure that lasted a short period. Upon seeing this we decided it was best to take Shaq to the hospital.When we got to the airport Shaq was still seizing. He was airlifted to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he was on a respirator until this morning. About an hour ago, I got word that Shaq stopped breathingon his own and the respirator was put back on. Any information on this drug "25i" or on what's going on with him would be GREATLY appreciated.
 
25I-NBOMe (NBOMe-2C-I, BOM-CI, Cimbi-5) is a derivative of the phenethylamine hallucinogen 2C-I, discovered in 2003 by Ralf Heim at the Free University of Berlin,[1] and subsequently investigated in more detail by a team at Purdue University led by David Nichols.[2]

25I-NBOMe acts as a highly potent agonist for the human 5-HT2A receptor,[3][4] with a Ki of 0.044 nM, making it some sixteen times the potency of 2C-I itself, and a radiolabelled form of 25I-NBOMe can be used for mapping the distribution of 5-HT2A receptors in the brain.[5][6] In vitro tests showed this compound acted as an agonist but animal studies have not been reported. While the N-benzyl derivatives of 2C-I were significantly increased in potency compared to 2C-I, the N-benzyl derivatives of DOI were inactive.[7]

Anecdotal reports from human users suggest 25I-NBOMe to be an active hallucinogen at a dose of as little as 500 mcg, making it a similar potency to other phenethylamine derived hallucinogens such as bromo-dragonfly.[citation needed] It came to media attention in early 2012 after a cluster of seven non-fatal overdoses with the drug, in or around Richmond, Virginia.[8][9][10]

I've already searched the shit out of google.
Was looking for information that I wouldn't be able to get my hands on by search engines.
 
He took an obscene amount of the drug. That would be my guess. To overdose he most likely bought it as the powder and snorted an unknown amount. The amount one should snort would be about the size of a few grains of sand.
 
Any idea how large of a dose he took? People do have strange reactions to drugs sometimes but it's possible he just took a lot. Have you looked at Erowid? http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/nbome/nbome.shtml

And yeah this drug is active at 500mcg. Snorting he easily could have taken in excess of 20mg, aka 40 doses. (If you've seen people doing coke in movies, a "line" of powder is usually 100-200mg, to give you an idea of how small the quantities involved here are.) If this was alcohol, imagine what 40x a threshold dose would do (120 shots). That's three handles of liquor. People really need to be careful when dealing with substances this potent.

Its a fairly Newer chemical. I would assume like someone said he had powder and like someone with little to no knowlege thought it would be ok to eye ball. If you told us what kind of person he was...for example was he pretty destructive or was he a smart person when it came to drugs?
 
Speaking from experience, too much 25i-NBOMe gives you very nasty vascular constriction. It can be fatal at certain levels. A way to counter this in the moment is to take something else with an opposite effect; when my friend accidentally dropped too much down his nose (an AWFUL and unsafe way to take this chemical, by the way), he ate a ton of benzos and it got better. But uh, be VERY VERY VERY careful with 25i-NBOMe.
 
There are a few reports of people being hospitilized on doses such as 500ug so it is either there is a high uncommon reaction rate or this substance is pretty unsafe. I have read probably 3 - 4 trip reports of bad experiences on low amounts on here, erowid and other forums I cant remember. Be careful with this, just because it doesnt have so much of an unpleasent body load doesn't mean it is safe for you.
 
It said his magnesium/potassium levels were down? maybe his body had a really bad reaction to 25i and he was already lacking in those two minerals. I also am assuming that the person who wrote that report fucked up the potency of that liquid or something.

After seeing him react the way he did, consuming 25i is out of the question for me.

Glad hes ok man. Just a question though, when you took him into the hospital and he was tripping, were they like whoa whats this guy on?

Also did they give him benzos to reduce his heart rate?

A lot of us are interested in what kind of dosage he took. Any idea?
(ie. how much? which route of administration? was he on anything else at the time?)
All of the NBOMe compounds are pretty new, so the community could use details from these kinds of reports to get an idea of what's safe and what isn't.

Personally, I don't blame you for staying away from it after what you saw. The NBOMes are just too untested compared to their 2C counterparts which have been around since the 90s. (or 80s in the case of 2C-B).
