I was admitted to the ER LAST Thursday f
Code:
or pneumonic symptoms, treated and released with a script for Prednisone 60 mg per day. I smoked meth Sunday mornin through Monday night approx .25 grams not a whole lot but my chest hurts at times with varying heart speed and my pulse seems very strong... Been occurring for 2 days now... Is it a withdrawal symptom (I've smoked before) is it a potential interaction from Prednisone and meth??? Christ I'm worried, could just be my pneumonia and being over paranoid but I am worried for my health.

It's probably because you had/still have pneumonia. It's not really advised that you consume any strong stimulant (methamphetamine being a very strong stimulant) when you have a chest cold...and certainly not when you have pneumonia. Your cardiovascular and immune system are already stressed enough, consuming methamphetamine and not sleeping is only going to add more strain.

I'm not aware of any interaction between prednisone and methamphetamine, but I seriously recommend that you stop taking meth if you haven't already. It could be a withdrawal symptom as well.

I would see a doctor if those symptoms continue. Always better to be safe than sorry.

it sounds like you're tweaking. either go to the ER, or try to sit peacefully and let the comedown happen.

this type of reaction is pretty normal, means you need to slow down. let your body heal. hydrate, force yourself to drink water, eat some carbs.

you will be ok.

Smoking meth while suffering from pneumonia likely won't help your lungs heal eh OP ;)

Did you tell the doc about meth when you were in the ER? Corticosteroids are made in your adrenal gland and getting them from an outside source will start to reduce adrenal gland function. Meth of course has great effect on epinephrine (made in the adrenal gland as well). I just don't know if their combined action on the adrenal glands is an interaction or not (i.e. the prednisone may just effect the steroid part and the meth the epinephrine part).

The prednisone will also weaken your immune system so you need to be more careful of infection, that is assuming your pneumonia is not infection related as you didn't mention any antibiotics. If your script is over you can check for fever but if you're still on it an infection might not effect your body temperature.

Basically though OP if you have been having arrhythmia and chest pain for the past two days seeing a doctor is a good idea.
